Best prices on Wii Fit bundle, but be careful (shopto.net)

WHAT IS IT ABOUT:
Shopto.net is a UK based online store that sells games consoles and video games.

IS IT ANY GOOD:
I came across shopto.net on the forums of moneysavingexpert.com, where it was listed as being the place to go for best prices on the Nintendo Wii with Wii Fit. Being my usual sceptical self, I still wasted another hour surfing the net to find better prices, but I have to say I completely agree - they are the best place online to buy a Wii and Wii Fit package (currently just £234.99 delivered). So there's the first point - the prices are (often) unbeatable.

I spent a good few hundred quid at the site, but it wasn't my only port of call. As a kind of spirit level I always compare prices with www.play.com, and this is where things got a little strange: on certain items, play.com was cheaper (up to 25%), but on others, shopto.net was cheaper (like £15 cheaper on the wii and wii fit bundle). Unfortunately, this means you cannot just rely on this site to have the best prices for everything - check play.com too to be sure you're getting the best deal.

The other downside is the way that many games are out of stock on the site (around half the titles I was after). Again, this meant checking another site, but one title that was out of stock on both websites (Mario kart for Wii) was finally bought in-store at Game in the city centre. I guess online retailers have different supply issues, but not being able to buy a top 10 release from the site is not really acceptable for a site that is all about video games.

The site itself is easy to navigate, and payment is over a secure connection. Delivery is fast too (within one day if ordered in the week). You have to set up an account to be able to buy, which is a bit laborious, but at those prices I expect I'll be back.

IN CONCLUSION:
Some of the best prices available, but always check against other retailers just in case.
