I have exactly the same experience as other people (see Trustpilot website for more reviews!). I ordered my perfume in March. I got ANOTHER perfume than the one I ordered. I have contacted them several times since then and it´s almost June and I haven´t got my order yet - I´ve been waiting for it for more than 2 months. They stopped replying to my emails. NEVER ORDER FROM THIS SITE, it will save a lot of time and money.
I honestly hate the fact you have to give companies like this one star, because they deserve less. It implies that they done something right, when they have done absolutely everything wrong. The phone line just rings out, no matter what time you call it; numerous emails I have sent and still not had a reply. I simply don't know understand how companies like this are in business. They are just ripping people off from most reviews I've read... how I wish I had looked here before I thought about ordering from them :(
I placed on order on 25/03/13 for my regular perfume as they were offering it at a slightly lower price than the other online perfume sites.
I received an automated email confirming that my order had been received.
The website states that they aim to dispatch orders within three working days, and that orders should be delivered within 5 to 7 working days.
On 04/04/13 I still hadn't received my order. I tried to contact them using the phone number on the website a couple of times, but the line either rang out or was engaged, so I emailed them instead with a polite enquiry as to the status of my order. The website states that all emails will be responded to within 48 hours..... 4 days later on 08/04/13 I received a reply:
"thank you for your email and order. We are sorry that you did not receive our last email. This order has been delayed in dispatch but should be dispatched this week. You have not been debited for this order."
I wasn't sure which email I hadn't received - I could only assume that they had sent out an email to tell me that the order was delayed, but they were correct I hadn't received this. Also, I paid for the perfume at the checkout and this had come out of my bank account immediately, so I didn't understand the bit about not being debited either.
I replied asking for clarification about the debiting comment, and also asked them to confirm once my order had been dispatched.... 4 days later I received another reply:
"sorry for the confusion with the order. It left on the 27th and should arrive any day now. The tracking number was...." So now my order had been dispatched within three working days of me placing it, but it had now been nearly three weeks and it still hadn't arrived. I tried to track the parcel using the tracking number they gave me but this wasn't recognised on the Royal Mail website. So I replied again expressing my dissatisfaction that I had now been told two conflicting stories about the order being dispatched and that I wasn't very happy with the customer service as a first time consumer with the company.
Thre days later I received a reply stating that there was another customer with the same surname as me (I'm not sure what this has to do with anything as I provided my order number in the emails) and that my order had been dispatched on 27/03/13 and that they were awaiting a response from Royal Mail. It was now over three weeks since I placed the order so I advised that I wanted to cancel the order and requested a refund.
I didn't receive a reply so I emailed again asking for my money to be refunded. I received a reply a day later (first time for everyting, even if it was in response to my second request for a refund) advising me that until it has been 30 days the order is still considered "deliverable". Now I use Royal Mail myself, so I know that they can cancel the order and have it returned to them. They might lose money on this, but hey ho this is what happens when you don't provide a good service to your customers. So I replied AGAIN requesting a refund and quoted the bits from their website about dispatching within 3 working days, delivering within 5 to 7 working days, replying to emails within 48 hours - none of which I can really see that they have kept to.
Finally received a reply on 19/04/13 advising that they will confirm once my refund has been processed. Three days later I am still waiting for this. And still no perfume has been delivered to me.
In hindsight I wish I had looked up reviews on this company before placing my order, but I will definitely stick with the slightly more expensive companies that I know will offer a better service!
I ordered perfume from this website on the 12th of November and got an automated order confirmation email through quickly. By the 19th of November I had heard nothing more and not received my perfume, it dosent seem possible to contact them by phone and there is no facility to track your order on the website, so I emailed them to find out what was going on. I received a response the following day (20th) saying that my order would be with me within the next two days.
I waited until close of business (just in case a courier came at the end of the day) on the 22nd, and there was still nothing, no parcel and no further communication, So I sent another email which I have still never had any response to. My parcel arrived by Royal Mail recorded delivery the following day, two full weeks after ordering. The item was correct & was well packaged.
The prices on this website are good, but not good enough to make the poor levels of service acceptable! My item was available on other sites for just one or two pounds more including next day delivery! I wont be using this site again.
Having read various reviews of this company, I can say that I had experienced both ends of the spectrum. Slapiton do offer usually the best price online which is why I returned after one episode where the order never arrived and I was never contacted to inform me that it was out of stock or indeed that it wasn't going to arrive. This is annoying when you want the item in a specific time for a gift. I had to email a number of times before I got a response, which was that according to their records the item had been delivered - it certainly had not been delivered to this address! I was eventually refunded.
I decided to give them another chance quite a number of months after simply because I couldn't get the item elsewhere for various reasons. On this occasion the item arrived very swiftly and safely, which encouraged me to use them again. Once again the item not only arrived swiftly, but it was upgraded to a much better item with compliments from Slapiton! This good bit of marketing means that I will continue to order from them in the future!
Due to being let down by my regular DFI-dstruct supplier I was forced to search elsewhere for this product. After some frantic internet surfing I came across Slapiton. Item was ordered last Thursday, confirmation email swiftly followed and item was delivered on the the Saturday morning. Faultless customer experience, very fast despatch/delivery and money didn't leave my account until the Monday. Can't say enough good things about this company and would definitely recommend.
I wish I had looked at the reviews on this site first before ordering. I have no idea how so many have been 'lucky' enough to get good service from Slapiton. I have, like others, been ignored and no goods and no explanation. Not even an 'out of stock' notice. Do as others warn and AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. I too wish I could give 'No Stars' as my rating. Ordered Monday morning and recieved the product next day! The product was well packaged and in perfect condition even included free samples of a related product. I will definitely shop with them again as they are cheaper than other sites for this particular product and their service is fantastic - Well done Slapiton.
I have only just found Slapiton but i have placed two orders so far.They have both been delivered the verynext day with great packaging i had to use scissors to get in to it. I will certainly be ordering from them in the future.thankyou Slapit on for saving me loads of moneycompaired to the shops in the high street and otherweb sites.
very easy to get around this site as its cleanly designed either by brand or by category, for example skincare or perfume. Found exactly what I was looking for in the Decleor range and saved a few pounds by going online. Payment was taken by sagepay who I've used a few times on other sites. Delivery took 4 day. Also they're an authorised stockist verified by Decleor.
Used Slapiton at christmas and again this month for a family members birthday. They consistently have some of the best prices I can find for some really exclusive brands. I saved loads off the recommended price for my Jimmy Choo and Decleor gift set. I also received samples with my order, which was a nice touch. The christmas order took about a week but my latest purchase was with me the following day. I would recommend them!
On browsing online last night and just typing in Slapitons name into google before I linked to their site I came across this review site. Like the last reviewer I feel complelled to write a review about them.
I am not an employee, just a loyal customer who has been buying with confidence online with them since 2005 since they started stocking my favourite perfume Fico di Amalfi.
Over this period of time I have spoken to them on the phone, emailed them, asked for advice and have always been given a warm and friendly welcome. Yes they are nice and friendly, but is that a bad thing? They have always actually provided me with honest advice and when I have purchased gifts for friends they have not passed me off, told me to buy the most expensive thing and have taken alot of care and attention to what I wished for to ensure that I got the right gift for that person. I think that is excellent service.
I have never had to wait more than a week for an item. When I did wait a week I was informed and put at ease by their friendly staff who also compensated for the delay with a lovely sack of samples.
I can honestly say that this online site is one of the ones I most recommend to friends and none of us have had a problem, so far as I know.
I have purchased from large department stores and been charged for items without them actually knowing whether something is in stock or caring to be nice on the phone when I have rung to enquire. I have never been charged before my item has arrived from this website. I am sure things go in and out of stock with them just as they would amazon but I am sure that reviewers do not tend to treat giants with such contempt. Maybe we should all consider what it would be like dealing with faceless companies that really do not care rather than smaller stores with real people on their staff who really care about their job.
In essence highly recommended.
Now, i'm not one to normally review companies online.
This however is an exception to the rule as my own experiences with Slapiton.tv have been so poor that I really want to help others avoid the stress of dealing with this company.
Firstly - Don't trust their website.
They have absolutely no system in place to reflect their stock levels. So when you're ordering you're taking a gamble as to if they even have the item. Think of it this way, would you hand your money over to a high street shop for an item they didn't stock? No of course not. Slapiton seem however to think this is an acceptable way to run a business.
Secondly - If you're unlucky and the item isn't in stock (which seems to be the norm) then slapiton will not inform you of this. Nope, they'll just wait till you get worried thinking something has been lost in the post, contact them... and then they'll mention in an offhand manner that the item isn't available and it "may" be in stock sometime in the near future. Wonderful right?
Thirdly - They don't reply to emails, they barely answer the phone. When they do answer the phone you'll get a rather stressed sounding woman who seems like she's fed up with lying to customers... telling you some vague statement about things arriving "soon". Don't trust it... they don't arrive soon... however "nice" she sounds.
Also, before ordering I advise you to take a look at their returns policy as it tells you exactly how much this company cares for their customers. In short - If you wish to return an item (that's if you're ever lucky enough for it to arrive!!) then to do so you need to send a physical letter within three days of purchase! Nope, you can't do it over the phone, or email. Plus remember most items will take longer than 3 days to arrive, even if sent on time (which they don't!).
The positive reviews on this site seem very unlikely to me - take a read of the negative reviews and you'll see that my experience is reflected all over the internet. I'd not be surprised if they come and write their own positive reviews sometimes! Either way, do you really want to gamble your time and money with a company who doesn't care about your experience in the slightest?
There are MANY other great online scent companies, with equally as cheap products. Use them. They also have the decency to tell you if they actually have an item in stock before taking your money.
Bottom lines: if you need your item in time for a gift then absolutely AVOID this company.
I'd give Zero stars if I could.
Although I hadn't heard of this company before, I placed an order for Christmas as they were by far the cheapest available for the Lady Million perfume. I received excellent communication from Sophie throughout the whole transaction, unfortunately the first product sent did not arrive, however once I emailed she ensured that another was sent out on a next day service so that it arrived before christmas!!I would most definitely recommend anyone to use this company and not feel worried about emailing as responses are both fast and helpful!!
