Advantages: Easy to edit photos, good to share them

Disadvantages: Sometimes a bit slow

I use Snapfish to get my photos printed. I could probably make more use of special offers if I shopped around a bit, but I like to store my photos online and share them with my family, so I use just one site - Snapfish.

--- Storing Photos ---
The upload is not too slow, but it does re-order the photos into some random order of it's own, which is annoying. You can then rearrange them so that when you look at the photos in a slideshow, they are in the order you want. This function doesn't work so well in Firefox, I find.

There is no limit to the number of photos that you are allowed to store online. I do keep my photos on cds at home as well though, just in case Snapfish goes bust. They're in a metal filing cabinet in case of fire - my photos are precious! Aren't they one of the top possessions that people would try to save in a fire?

--- Editing Photos ---
You can give all the photos explanatory names if you like. You can edit the photos - for example, you can crop the photo so that it only shows the part that you want. The website ensures that the dimensions of the photo are still in the right proportion. You can also remove red-eye, although if you're trying to fix too small an area, the red-eye correction just makes the person look like they have black eyes. You can make the photos lighter too, if your flash didn't do its job. There are other, fancier, features, but these are the ones I use most often. It can be time-consuming to work through all your photos, fixing red-eye etc but it is usually worth the effort.

--- Viewing Photos ---
You can watch your photos as a slide-show - this is particularly good toddler-entertainment!

--- Sharing Photos ---
You can enter email addresses to share the photos with. You store your photos in "albums" so you can choose which photos to share. The people you have specified receive an email with a link to follow to your photos. This means the doting grandparents can see all our photos, and buy their own copies if they want them.

--- Buying photos ---
It is easy to buy prints - you can buy all of the photos in that album, or just some of them. It costs 9p a print, or slightly cheaper if you prepay (7p a print if you prepay for 250, for example). I buy about 50 every 3 months or so, and it isn't worth prepaying because they have special offers on at least that often - so its cheaper to make use of an offer than it is to prepay.

Postage is 99p for 1-50 prints or £1.49 for 51-500 prints.

You can also get lots of different gifts with your photos on, but I haven't tried these.

--- The prints ---
The prints arrive quite quickly and are good quality. I compared them to Photobox when I initially picked a website, and preferred the colours of the Snapfish prints.

The photos do tend to be in a strange order in the packet.

Summary: I intend to keep using them

I up to Snapfish the other week and got 50 free prints. Thought the delivery was very speedy, although I do know what you mean about it randomly rearraging your pics - very annoying!

I do find it very annoying when you upload photos to these sites that they reorder them randomly for no reason! I've ordered from here a couple of times but it's not my site of choice for online photo ordering :)
