Advantages: Fast delivery, good quality photos

Disadvantages: Buying more than 150 prints can be pricy compared to other sites

I have just received my photo order from Snapfish so thought I would review the service. I had heard of Snapfish before but never used the site because I always tend to use Tesco Photo where I can pick the photos up instore. However, my boyfriend is on the o2 network and every time he tops up he gets a surprise from o2, this months was 50 free prints from Snapfish. Not bad, we thought as we needed to print the photos off from last weekend anyway.

I logged onto Snapfish and was pleasantly surprised to see that upon sign up, they give you 20 free prints. Can't be bad, I thought to myself, 70 free prints! The website is very easy to navigate, along the top are a number of different sections including photos and gifts. If you log into your account you can view, order and change all of your photo albums.

In order to get your photos onto your section of the site you must first upload them. You had to do this one by one which I found rather tedious in comparison to those where you select what you want and away you go, however I did find it to be a lot quicker than alternative versions and in 10 minutes I had uploaded 69 photos. At this point I will take the opportunity to point out that other people visiting the site can not see your photos, it is not like a profile more like a section just for you.

I then of course wanted to order my prints so I followed the step by step instructions. The system recognised I had uploaded photos from a digital camera so asked me if I wanted to stick with my standard 6'x4' prints or opt for a slightly different size in which no cropping is needed therefore making your photos exactly the same as the ones you took. I found it very annoying when my photos used to come back with the tops of peoples heads cut off so I thought this was a very good idea. I then needed to input my details which I did. I paid £1.50 or £1.99 for postage and was told my order would be with me in around 5 working days but I would be emailed updates on my order.

The day after I had uploaded the pictures I was sent an email saying that my photos were on their way, they arrived the day later in the post so I was very happy with how quickly they arrived. They were packaged well in a postage bag and then in a photo wallet to ensure none of my photos got bent. The photos look brilliant and were obviously printed on high quality paper, now I just need to get round to putting them in the album!

I got my photos for free however, I will include some prices for the point of the review:
6'x4' are 9p each, this is good value however if you are ordering more than 150 prints I would recommend you visit Tesco Photo as the price drops to 5p there.
3'x2' wallet size photos are just 99p for a set of 4 which I believe to be very cheap having browsed around
7'x5'=19p
8'x6'=40p
10'x8'=£1.20
12'x8'=£1.20

A wide range of gifts are also available for reasonable prices including mugs from £7.99, sets of 20 personalised cards from £4.49 and personalised calendars from £14.99.

I would recommend Snapfish to anyone who prints their photos or anyone looking out for a personalised gift for someone. Their prices are very competitive and the service is very quick and easy. I will certainly be returning to Snapfish.

Summary: Great website
