Advantages: Easy to use, good service, cashback possibility!

Disadvantages: Can be pricey for larger items

I first used Snapfish about 2 years ago now, and if I want photos printed off it's the first website I visit. I discovered it through Quidco (I do believe you can now get £5 cash back for registration and your first order, which works out that you'll probably make money!)

Snapfish owned by HP, and is a very reliable website. The site enables you to upload and save you photos to your private online gallery, which you can divide into appropriate folders for your own preference and organisation. Once loaded you have the option to order prints of your photos, or create 'photo gifts', prices and sizes vary, but here is a rough guide:

You first 40 4" x 6" (average photograph size) are free when you make your first upload.
Additional 4" x 6" prints are 9p each
7" x 5" are 19p each
8" x 6" are 40p each
10" x 8" are £1.20 each
12" x 8" are £1.20 each
3" x 2" wallet prints are 99p for a set of 4.

There are also many offers on, and you can opt for email news-letters which regularly feature voucher codes offered money off gifts or free prints.

The photo gifts available vary from notepads to mugs, to teddy bears, clothing and many more, all with a personalised message/photograph(s) of your choice on them.

Registration is very simple, and takes a matter of minutes. You also have the option of downloading a program to enable fast uploading if you have a moderate amount of photos. It isn't compulsory, but I'd advise it as it does make things a good few minutes quicker!

When ordering photograph prints you have the option to pick either a matt or gloss finish, and whether you would like a border or no border, these options come at no extra price and are down to your own personal taste.

Once you're happy with your order you have the option to have it delivered to your house for a delivery charge, or to pick it up from your local Jessops store for free. It's best to be prepared to pay for delivery, as I'm not sure if the collection service is available at every Jessops. Either way, the delivery charges are fairly reasonable, even more so if you're just ordering with free prints. The last few times I've paid 99p postage, and it's arrived within about 5 days of me uploading and ordering.

Prints are usually delivered in a plastic Snapfish bag, which contains the usually paper/cardboard photograph pouch which you'll recognise if you've ever had a disposable camera or film developed.

Overall, I find Snapfish a very easy website to use with very reasonable prices and quality. It may not be the cheapest photo printing website, but they've never given me a reason to change to another. I highly recommend trying these out, and making your first order through a cash back website which should cover the cost of most orders!

Probably the only thing HP does well. Got the big thumbs-up from The Gadget Show this week.
