Purchased Asics trail shoes which only lasted 5 minutes before falling apart.Customer services advised me to return them for inspection by manufacturer who agreed they were defective. Was offered an exchange or refund but on electing for exchange was told my size was no longer available.Asked for a refund instead. After much chasing was eventually refunded the cost of shoes ONLY.After much more chasing was refunded the original charge for post & packing.Latest position still chasing my costs incurred in returning the defective goods.Next step - small claims court - only £5 but a matter of principle!!
Just fancied giving this company the just it really deserves, having read reviews online, I couldn't actually believe how narrow minded they actually were, you cant be negative about Sportsshoes.com surely. Many reviews actually made me chuckle to my old self to be honest.
I have used this company for around 5 years now (couldn't believe it took me this long to find them) prices are always really cheap, which of course is good news in this generation. The team there are all lovely and couldn't do any more to help with my enquiries, I know most of the lassies names who work there. Find them all to be genuine bubbly girls who are empathetic with any hassle you have with the couriers (remember these guys dont deliver them their-selves! your delays are probably with the couriers taking the Michael, not the company)
The prices are really competitive and they also have the price beat offer, you cant grumble with. I have reccomended this company to my running club who use Sportsshoes and again never have any hassle.
Being the old man, I have suddenly become, I find their website, fresh and easy to use. However I prefer speaking to the girls to place my orders as this is always done in a matter of minutes, hassle-free.
The thing I found out from one of the lasses, is that this company has been running for around 29 years!!!! To me thats more than reassurance that this company is a successful, hardworking one.
So I for one are giving this company the credit it more than deserves, Keep it up Sportsshoes. You are a great Northern team
In January 2011 i bought 2 pair of trainers, which i returned cause of the wrong size.i returned the trainers with a lot of troubles.(they did´t receive my parcel, until i send them the quittance from the parcel service!!!)since then and about 100 Mails later,i ´m waiting for my refund...there are always "technical errors" and "something went wrong"I call it SCAM.greets wallpe from austriaps: i can post the mail communication if anybody´s email@example.com
Never allow cheap prices to tempt you to use this site, their customer service is dreadful. I ordered some trainers which arrived in a week (£4.99) delivery, but they were the wrong ones! I paid to return them asking for refund inclusive of delivery and return postage and surprise, surprise heard nothing. I sent numerous emails which were ignored and had the experience of speaking to several rude, dismissive and unhelpful staff - still awaiting my refund! I cannot stress enough DO NOT USE it's worth the extra to use a reputable company which sportsshoes.com is not!
I ordered a pair of Ascis which arrived promptly. They lasted about 3 weeks before the sole began coming away. I returned them using Royal Mail Proof of posting (first mistake...use recorded delivery). 15 days later and a dozen Emails and like other they say they have not received them.Be warned, customer services advise if prompted that postage can take 15 days, inspection of damaged goods another 2 weeks and a further two weeks for a refund. Over 6 weeks. Cheaper shoes at a cheaper service!
I had a very unhappy shopping experience with sportsshoes.com. The lady who took my order quoted 2 different prices, and ended up sending me 2 identical pairs, but charging my credit card twice. I was asked to send the 2nd pair back, but was then told I would have to find a fax machine to send a copy of proof of postage. A number of phone calls later to unhelpful operators who sound like they couldn't care less (of course the manager is always in a meeting) and I still don't have a full refund, even though it was their error. I would never shop with this company again.
I had ordered 3 pairs of shoes, the 2 of them arrived ok and in order to claim the 3rd pair I had to contact a consumers rights site, after all my emails asking for the 3rd pair remained ananswered for 1,5 month (like Katja waiting for Lottie to answer!). Then suddenly (I suppose the consumers rights company worked just fine) they said they were sorry for the delayed answer but they were busy looking for the third pair in stock(!) and offered to replace the missing pair with a newer model pair of shoes, since they didnt have it in stock...
UNBELIEVABLE HOW BAD CAN IT GET!I paid in advance as requested 25.9.2008 about 150 GBP for my order, I called tens of times and e-mailed Lottie at least 20+ e-mails asking where my products are, no reply and some replies where she claimed no moneys has been sent, I contacted their and my bank and the confirmed SPORTSSHOES UK the got money 27.9.! They lied to me the goods were sent and now I got last week 4 items of value less than 50GBP, still waiting for the rest around 100 GBP 3.12.2008 and no making up for my loss and no replies again! Just don't pay in advance or trust them! br. Katja from Finland firstname.lastname@example.org
Having used sportsshoes.com for the first time and i must stress it certainley wont be the last i must say i feel some of the comments are slightly unfair.
Having come across the site searching for the saucony jazz 6000s having been told they were discontinued, i was amazed at all the products and how cheap the prices were!
I spent hours on their site literally having to be pulled away by my husband who wanted to look!
I called up the mail order line and was dealt with by a polite young lady who was very chirpy and couldnt help me any more if she wanted too which was a nice change to companys these days who employ the "next order please" types.
the girl i spoke to had fantastic knowledge of the shoe which again is shocking these days.
I chose to opt for the 2-3 day delivery which i guess isnt always possible when couriers are used, on the third day i called to check the progress on the parcel in which again was met by a lovely member of staff who was more than happy to help, they advised they would contact the courier and get back to me asap.
half an hur later i was called with a response-i was told my parcel would be with me that day or the day after at the latest in which the parcel arrived the following day in which i was met by my old friends the 6000s! i will be using them for my xmas presents and to cater my needs in the future-i have reccomended them to my friends! A FABULOUS company and always helpful staff-not had a bad experience with them!
I ordered a pair of Magnum boots from Sportsshoes.com on their 2-3 day delivery service. Sportsshoes were offering by far the best price for the boots, including the delivery costs. However, the boots didn't arrive until some 3 weeks later! Then... through no fault of Sportsshoes, the boots went faulty and I returned them for a replacement. I have now been waiting 3 weeks for my replacement. The guys on the phonelines don't seem to have a clue and just make up answers, such as "they're on order and should be in any day soon." Come on Sportsshoes, sort out the customer service and you might be a half decent company!! I certainly won't be ordering again.
I have just read some of the reviews and i felt i had to write to balance the opinions. I too have ordered many times from sportsshoes.com and never had anything but a first class service in all areas. Customer service, good prices, prompt deliveries and the goods themselves are all first class in my opinion.
It sounds to me that some of the other reviews on here have had problems with deliveries and not the company themselves. Surely the courier is to blame and not the company that despatched the goods.
I can truly say that very few companies have matched them. And i for one wont put up with bad customer service when im handing over my money. I feel the negative reviews on here are unfair and like i said i have been ordering from sportsshoes for a long time, so my experience with this company isn't just a one off order. It is based on several orders.
I bought a pair of Asics Gel GT 2130 on SportsShoes.com last week. I did shop around, but I couldn't find them cheaper. When I didn't receive a confirmation email for my order I phoned them up and was straight through to a operator who confirmed my order and told me my email address was entered wrong (my bad). They arrived within a couple of days.Overall very happy. No problems. First rate friendly service.
Avoid sportsshoes.com at ALL costs. ordered 2 pairs of trainers from these muppets but made an error in shipping address. after numerous emails which they NEVER respond to & phone calls. I then filled out a form to get another 2 - pairs sent after waiting 6 days from sending form back (23 days in total form original order) I phone them up only to be told trainers out of stock and do I want to select alternatives I decline and ask for my money back. sportshoes.com has the worst customer service I have ever experienced I do not believe a word there customer service people say & felt totally fobbed off through the whole experience . I would never use them again ever.
Sportshoes.com? Avoid - at all costs. First of all, their prices compared to normal retail outlets for the most up-to-date stocks are pretty much the same.
They make their margins by selling older stuff at knockdown prices.
All fair and well - until you try to order.
I ordered a pair of Nike Vomeros - or so I thought. After a week of nothing hpapening I rang them to see where my order was, only to be told that particular shoe was out of stock.
They then offered me the `latest' Vomero model for an extra £15.
"We have one pair in your size left in stock," they said. "And they are yours if you want them."
Having agreed , and paid extra, I waited patiently for the shoes to arrive.
Two days later I got a call from them, telling me they couldn't fulfil the order after all, as they had none in stock.
"What happened to the one pair you reserved for me?" I asked.
"That was a mistake," they said.
They then tried to flog me a number of other brands of running shoes, most of which were dross, obviously trying to point me towards stock they wanted to shift.
All in all, appalling service.
