      Advantages

      • "Very cheap prices"
      • "Free delivery if you spend more than £10"
      • "Click and collect in store"
      • "Very quick and easy to use"

      Disadvantages

Excellent website with cheap prices and great delivery options!

Superdrug is in my opinion,is the cheapest health and beauty retailer that I personally love using but sometimes some of the products advertised online are not available in store which is why superdrug.com is great to use. The websites has hundreds (maybe thousands) of products to choose from and that includes products for men as well.

One of the best features of this website is the layout, it's very clearly layed out including a tab just for offers which I love checking as Superdrug does have some really good deals. It's worth checking the "Better than 1/2 price" section as you can make some great savings.

Also, another great feature of this website is the fact that you can pay using Paypal which is great as it gives you peace of mind as well as being very efficient as it's very quick and simple to use. However, if you do not have Paypal, you can pay using a normal debit card which is simple to use as well but it does take a bit more time as you have to enter lots of detail.

This website is also excellent as it gives you the option of getting your products delivered to any Superdrug store which I personally use as I don't like going to the post office which is a bit far from my house to collect a parcel that hasn't been delivered due to me being out. However, if you prefer, Superdrug does deliver for free as long as you spend £10 which is a very reasonable value.

I have found that collecting in store is very easy as you just go in and ask a member of staff that you are here to collect an order. You show them your order confirmation and they bring your order. Also, do not forget your ID as proof. Also, if you cannot collect it yourself someone else can collect it as long as they have their ID as well as the person who ordered the items.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

easier just to go into town to buy what you need even if you live out in the country.

i only ordered from superdrug once

Online Shopping- Was easy and straight forward enough, checking and payment went through fine

Problems- Never got email saying things got sent, i had to call superdrug for them to track and see if it left yet, i dont remember why or what exactly happen (as this happen a couple of years ago) but they said the package never left the warehouse or whatever for some unknown reason, so to make up for there slowness he gave me free express shipping or something like that..

so i wait 2 more days, still no package

superdrug uses parcel force, or at least did, parcel force is really crap (something i was about to find out)
so i call superdrug to get the tracking number so i can call up parcel force and get the package tracked

i call up parcel force and the women on the phone at parcel force has this random angry tone even before i ask her about my package, shes like '' it should arrive today it's been packed into the mail truck for house delivery'' so i'm like ''ok, thanks bye ''

package never came, wasted a hole day waiting for this stupid thing to come (parcel force wont deliver to nearest post office if your not home)

so next day i call parcel force again and i tell the woman i called before about blah..blah blah.. and she tells me it will definitely be there before 4pm because its express and it got delayed because there swamped with work over there, and they couldn't deliver .

thank the gods i didnt have to pay for that express delivery or i would be mad at this point instead of worried.

anyway long story short, it did get delivered but while i went to local shop around 2pm and i get back and the note in the door says that he hid the package in the back of my flat in the driveway near the neighbour open shed door..
i was like OMG! X.x and i was lucky to find it still there the box was a little wet from the melted snow though.. jeez lol

i mean what if i was gone longer i'm sure the box wouldn't still be there if i didnt find it right away

i later called to tell the same woman i spoke to before (i had a ref number so it calls the same person at parcel force) and i told her what happen, and she said sorry he shouldn't have done that and she was now able to tell me why it took so long, the parcel got delivered to london somehow at first and had to be re posted to the correct place.

i will never shop with Online Superdrug ever again until they change there parcel service!

reason i bought online because local shop didnt have certain products i wanted.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Brilliant :-)

Superdrug is one of my favourite shops, but unfortunately the stock in my local is quite limited and popular items sell out really quickly. This is why I find Superdrug's website so handy as the items are very rarely out of stock and the site is quick and easy to use, too. Finding certain items is really quick due to the search option and deals such as half price items can be found easily too. The homepage of the website has everything on it that a customer needs. The colour scheme is very girly; white and pink, and there is an eye-catching slideshow on the centre of the page which advertises deals and so on. There is also various pictures and text with details on offers and brands dotted around the page as well as several tabs which are the online equivalent of aisles.

These include make-up, skin-care, fragrance etc. Other tabs inclue offers, eletricals and everything else that you'd expect to find in your local Superdrug store. Once a tab is clicked, there's a drop down list of various brands and products, and once you choose which brand or which product you want you need to click onto it. This then takes you to a new, clearly laid out page which has the pictures of each product as well as the price and the option to add it to your basket. If you're after a Max Factor mascara for example but wanted to know a little more about it before purchasing it you would then need to click onto the picture and it takes you to a page with a brief product description.

Pages load quickly and there are very rarely glitches. I've had a few occasions where the page has 404'd, but the problem seems to be fixed quickly. To buy a product/products, you need to register with the website. This is quick and easy and all they ask for is your name, e-mail address, phone number and address. You also need to create a password. Once you've got an account and have added everything you want to buy, checking out is an easy process. Simply fill in your bank details and choose your delivery speed, eg next day delivery or standard etc. I find the delivery charges to be reasonable and always opt for standard delivery, which is £3 Delivery is free for orders over £5.

Once you've filled your card details etc in you need to confirm the payment. I am with lloyds tsb and always need to vertify my payment by entering my bank account password, alhough I'm not sure if this is the same with other banks. Payment is slower than most other sites and the payment takes around 2mins to complete. Paypal is accepted, but I have never paid via Paypal. Once payment is completed you will recieve an e-mail with an order confirmation and order number. You will recieve an e-mail once your order is dispatched and my order's have all been dispatched within 3 working days and I usually recieve my parcel within 5 days of making the order.

All of my orders have come in very strudy and secure cardboard boxes which are sealed with tape. The packages are tracked and the address is written clearly on the front making it less likely for the parcel to get lost. The box is always so tightly sealed that scissors are needed to open it which is an advantage in my opinion! A receipt and several leaflets such as voucher codes for specific products or perfume samples are included and the products are wrapped in brown paper. All of my orders have arrived safetly with no spills or other issues. I've had 9 orders from Superdrug and have only had one minor issue, which was when I had ordered four body butters and they only sent three. After a quick e-mail to complain I recieved an apologetic respone and I recieved the missing body butter 2 days afterwards, so I can not fault the customer service at all.

      Recommended.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Never going to be a website I'm glued to daily, but certainly worth a monthly visit

I'm not a natural Superdrug fan - I'm more of a Boots girl! Being in my early 30s, I see it as a store for teenage girls and it appeals nicely to this market with its branding and cheap and cheerful ranges. As a teenager I loved it, but fell out of love when Boots bought out their Advantage card and I could get freebies for shopping there regularly.

While at my local shops today I needed some heel grips for some high heel shoes I recently bought, so went into Superdrug as it was convenient and I thought I could probably get some at a pretty low price (Superdrug own brand - Heel Grips £1.49 per pair if you're interested - not bad)

At the till, the girl asked me if I would like their Beautycard store card and I said yes for two reasons - one was that it has a very clever mirror finish on the front which is like having a mirror in your wallet all the time tucked in among your cards, and also because they allow you to use accumulated points for part payment. Boots only allows you to use the advantage points you earn once you've reached the total amount needed for an item.

When I got home, I logged onto superdrug.com to register my card and I was pleasantly surprised with the site. When you first log on, the homepage is the usual advertising layout of a retail store - nothing new there. What I did like was that they have all their special offers on the homepage so no looking around to find them.

I next went to the Beautycard section of the site. Once you're registered and logged in, you can check your points balance, change your communication preferences, check current Beautycard promotions and sign up for email offers. All the things that you would expect of a good loyalty card site. All the basics are here and nothing is missing.

As I'm not looking for anything to buy at the moment, clicked on the little Dare logo in the top menu bar - my critisim here is that this should be larger as this is the best bit of the site and easy to miss.

Dare is the online version of Superdrug's store magazine. I generally love store magazines, as they are quick and fun to read, you can find out about offers and often have interviews and articles in them that you would likely find in women's glossies - but you quite often don't have to pay for them!

Dare online is using a nice PDF style where you can flick over the pages by clicking the mouse and it also have interactive elements like video - it's a bit like a newspaper from Harry Potter! It includes the usual offers and interviews, but I didn't have to throw it away afterwards which was great. I'm hoping that the Superdrug regular newsletter that I've signed up for will alert me to when the next issue is out as it's just a nice little free time passer to get into for 20 minutes or so and there might even be a good offer in there! You can also subscribe by rss feed if you want from the bottom of the page - I'm not going to as I like to keep my feed clean for only certain blogs and subsciptions.

This month's issue included an interview with Myleene Klass, info on how the Beautycard works, and quite a lot of advertising articles - but they are a retail company and need to tell you about their products!

All in all, I'm happy to spend the occasional 15 - 20 minutes on superdrug.com and find more things to do than just buy beauty products!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          I would definitely use again!

I decided to take advantage a while back of the free delivery offer and seeing as I had broken my hip I couldn't actually go out anyway! My first thoughts of the website is that some parts are a little annoying to use but it is set out in a very clear layout and it is easy to find everything that you are looking for. Currently they are running free delivery on orders over £25 or standard delivery is £3 and they aim to take between 2 and 4 working days. They offer an express delivery service which is next day if you order before 2pm and costs £5.50. Superdrugs cut off point in my opinion is very early at 2pm, if you place an order after 2pm it will not be received until the next working day. I placed my order on a Sunday and it arrived on the Friday so it does take a little while and if you are desperate then you could opt for the more expensive next day delivery or it may be easier to go to the shop. Delivery is via Royal Mail or Parcel Force and mine was delivered by Parcel Force and it did require a signature.

You can track your order online which is very useful I think. They also offer a free returns service if you are not happy with any of your products which surprises me as you could order things such as nail varnishes, use them and then send them back. This could also happen with beauty products and nowhere on the website did I see anything stating you could not return the makeup? I could be wrong. Anyway my order came in a standard cardboard box and was very well packaged with all recyclable materials. I was a little worried as I had ordered all liquids but they all arrived intact with no leakages. With my order I also got a copy of their own "Dare" magazine and a few free samples of I think a Nivea moisturiser which I thought was a really nice touch. All in all I had no problems with my order and I would definitely take advantage if they had free delivery with no minimum spend again.

When I callled customer services they hung up three times before I finally got through, then they weren't particularly helpful or sorry and put me on hold for 20 minutes; just to return to tell me what I already knew... that they had made a mistake with my order!!!! which just infuriated me further. I will stick to boots in future.Disgraceful service..disgraceful attutude; all round disgraceful!!!!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Not quite super, but not too bad either

Superdrug. Why do I never shop in Superdrug these days? I think it's partly because Boots has a much nicer layout, the stores feel cleaner and brighter, and I can get all my premium brands from there, often as part of a special offer. OK, OK, so Superdrug may be cheaper overall, but it's just not a place I particularly enjoy shopping any more. A couple of weeks ago however I got a voucher code for 10% off my first order at Superdrug.com. This combined with the realisation I would get 9% cash back via Quidco, and I decided to check out their website!

          ~Navigation~

The URL is www.superdrug.com and this takes you to the homepage which is headed with the bright pink colouring of Superdrug's logo. There are headings across the top of the page directing you to different sections of the site, such as Hair, Beauty, Offers etc.. and a search function on the left which allows you to search by brand, price or keyword.

I really don't like the search function on this site. It works OK, but unless you know exactly which product you want to buy it's not easy to find what you want. I think it would be better if you could search by category as well, such as Shampoo, Shower Gel, Vitamins etc... This way you'd be able to see everything on offer and compare brands/prices at the same time.

          ~Range of products~

The range of products Superdrug sell doesn't really compare to Boots in my opinion. As well as Boots selling premium brands, they also sell a lot of cheaper brands which are very popular such as Soap and Glory and Lee Stafford. They tend to be bang on when spotting a trend, whereas the brands Superdrug seem to go for just don't quite seem to have the same appeal.

You can however buy products from a lot of well known brands such as L'Oreal, Garnier, Pantene and Schwarzkopf, and there are a few premium brand products, such as Decleor and Clarins, although their ranges are limited.

          ~Making a purchase~

Making a purchase was very easy. After selecting the products I wanted I clicked 'Go to checkout' at the top of the screen.

You are asked to register if you have not already done so, before being able to pay. Lot's of websites let you have the option of making a purchase without registering now, but I don't think this is an option here.

After entering the normal details such as name and address, you get to the payment page where you can pay by most major credit and debit cards. There is a delivery charge of £3, for orders under £35, anything over that and it's free. You are then sent an email confirming your order and supplying you with a delivery reference number.

          ~Delivery~

I placed my order on a Sunday night and on Monday afternoon I received a second email to inform me my items had been dispatched.

The items then arrived on Tuesday morning via standard Royal Mail delivery, and I was surprised, but pleased that delivery was so fast.

The items were packaged in a plain cardboard box with brown paper to protect them, and the only criticism I have is that a bottle of shampoo I bought had the lid half twisted off, which I'm sure must have been like that before delivery as I don't think it's very likely it would have unscrewed itself during transit, but thankfully it hadn't actually leaked.

          ~Uh Oh, a problem~

Well this is a bit of a strange one actually. I'd had the products for about a week and a half when I noticed something. I'd ordered a body scrub, but what I'd actually been sent was a shower gel. I hadn't noticed at the time, because they were both the same brand and fragrance, and in fact the body scrub comes in virtually identical packaging, the only difference being the contents.

It didn't bother me too much, because I hadn't really needed another body scrub (although nor did I need another shower gel to be honest), but I checked online to see that the shower gel was not more expensive than the scrub. In fact they were both the same price -99p. I checked the return policy, and it seemed that I needed to simply package this up within one month and send it back using the freepost label which came with my order. It told me it would then take 30 days for a replacement.

Now at first I did intend to do this, as it seemed very simple, and I was impressed that there would be no cost to me. Eventually however, I decided just to keep the shower gel, because firstly it was the same price as the scrub and neither me or Superdrug had lost out, and secondly I did not want to wait another 30 days for a replacement. Also when I checked back on the Superdrug website a few days later the scrub was out of stock, so I may have had to have a refund, which all seemed a lot of hassle just for 99p.

          ~Overall~

Apart from the one product being incorrect, I have been quite pleased with my experience of shopping online with Superdrug. The delivery was much faster than expected and I was pleased to have communication that my order had been dispatched. The main downside is the navigation of the site, which can be a pain in the neck unless you already know which product you intend to purchase.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Excellent

I have previously divested this website to browse but found it appalling and haven't vested it in over 2 years. Then while browsing the 'Quick grabbit while you can' board on the faithful MSE website I saw a glitch when people where getting 3 for the price of 1 on gift sets for Christmas. I immediately logged onto Superdrug to see what the fuss was about and sure enough it was taking off two gift prices at the end. Excellent I thought so I did a bit of shopping.

As there was a lot of frenzy about it on MSE it was hard to get anything in your basket without it going out of stock so that took a while to sort out but I got 3 Christmas presents for £4.99. These were a Dove bath and shower gift set, a Winnie the Poo bath set and a tofu set. Absolute bargains.

Before completing my order I had to register which was very easy and quick to do as is payment and filling in your details. I love sites have a bit now where you type in your postcode and it finds your address but I'm a very lazy typer!

There was speculation we wouldn't receive these as it was obviously a glitch and the numbers of people who took advantage of this were huge so I wasn't expecting to get them but nothing ventured nothing gained so I paid £3.99 postage and completed my order. Got a confirmation email within minutes so I was pleased and forgot all about it until the next day I found an Email form Superdrug in my junk folder. Oh dear this was them cancelling it I thought but no, it was as it was there fault they were honouring the orders. However due to the massive demand there was going to be a delay in sending them and we had the choice of cancelling if we wanted. Yeah right, like anyone would want to cancel, wishful thinking Superdrug...

Once again I forgot about my order until last night the barked at the door so I went to investigate to find a parcel force van which a box for me. I signed for it and ripped it open to find my gifts wrapped in brown paper.

They weren't wrapped that well to be honest but if they come via Parcel Force then there's no need I suppose unlike Royal Mail which throw things about.

So although it took ages for them to get delivered I'm sure they deliver a lot quicker in normal circumstances. Also delivery is free when you spend £35 or more. The range of gifts (now they're all back in stock) are brilliant. You could defiantly find something for everyone and they are all on 3 for 2.

Over all I'm very pleased with my experience with Superdrug.com. I have found them very helpful and there website is very easy to navigate.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

Good enough to shop on once in a while but not permenantly

So it's that time again when I decide to stock up on all my toiletries. Instead of going all the way to town this time, I decided to make benefit of various things like online promotional codes and cashback so I headed to Superdrug's website as I've always been fairly pleased with the stock and variety as well as prices they have on offer in their high street chains.

              - Layout -

On first appearance the site has a nice, welcoming feel with bright colours and seems relatively easy to navigate around.
In the top right hand corner is where you can sign in or register for an account. The registering process is easy enough - you only have to provide a few contact details like name and e-mail. The site doesn't ask for any credit card details until you actually proceed to purchasing something.
The site is sorted into catergories that run in the navigation menu 'Home-Beauty-Hair-Fragrance-Men-Health-Offers' and you can also search for individual products by a keyword search or by using the drop down box to select a specific brand name.
Superdrug of course is the 2nd biggest health and beauty retailer in the UK behind Boots selling everything from toiletries to various vitamins and supplements.

              - Items -
I found most of the things I needed pretty easily and quickly though I was disappointed in the lack of variety in some instances.
There is normally a lot more on offer in the store on brand names such as Lynx, Head And Shoulders and Gillette to name but a few and the products listed on the site were very limited. This struck me as a bit odd as usually it's the other way round.
The prices on some items were a bit steep but superdrug redeems itself with some really good offers on a range of products across the board that evens things out quite nicely. I managed to save almost £6 in offers buying my usual products which I thought was very pleasing.
I was also a bit confused as to why they sell over the top expensive electric toothbrushes but do not sell regular ones or t o make it even more weird toothpaste, when they have a whole aisle dedicated to such dental products in our local store.

              - Checkout -
The next part is obviously purchasing your order. After signing into your account to verify your order a summary of the products in your basket comes up with a confirmation of your address.
You can then proceed to inputting your credit card details and any promotional vouchers you've obtained. I found it very disappointing [but perhaps I'm just being stingy] that I couldn't use the 15% off code because I'd already selected items that had a promotional offer.

In the end I would save a bout £1 more using the voucher so I opted for that. Another downside is that delivery is not free unless you spend over £35. I'm not sure how much it actually costs as my total came to over that margin.
On the plus side however the site does accept all credit and debit cards including Solo. Once all that stuff is sorted just click the 'Continue' button to have your order processed.
I also found it very strange that when the order was being processed Firefox pulled up a box with a third party that wasn't Superdrug trying to get onto the connection. I have never had this happen before and had no other windows open so am a little confused about that.

              -Delivery-
After everything is sorted you should immediateluy be sent an email with a summary of your purchase.
It apparently takes about 2-4 days for delivery though they don't ship at weekend. I've yet to see how long it actually takes the products to arrive or the state the will be in but as its a big high street store I don't feel completly in the dark.

Overall whilst I've got some good offers from shopping on the site and saved myself a bit of money in the process, I wouldn't really use the Superdrug website to shop again and would rather trek into town to get the few extra bits I need.

I like the way they have changed the store around in north shields. it gives more room to walk around and the shop looks alot cleaner. the staff where also very nice and helpful. The offers in the shop are great but it could do with promoting them more.

This is not one of the best websites made for shops. ~~content~~ Unlike most other high street shop?s websites, super drug.com doesn?t actually sell anything , so the website is only useful if you want to see what offers they have on at the moment, or if any vacancy?s are going. There are five sections ~~Top offers~~ These tell you what offers are going of in the store at the moment, like buy one get one free or half price. This is one of the good parts of the websites because when you are in the store the special offers aren?t that easy to find and if you look at the website you?ll know before hand ~Grab it now~~ Superdrug tends to have objects in that are only in for a limited amount of time. This part of the website tells you and informs you about these products. They assume people will want to buy these objects because they are reasonably priced. ~~Healthy Living~~ This is one of the most informative parts of the website. Every time the website is updated it has different tips and advice on health issues such as hay fever and sunburn for example. Then being a store website it promotes something which will help this problem. ~~Seasonal solutions~~ On here they highlight products that are going to be used in that time of year for example now it has sun cream and disposable cameras, in other words things you?ll need for this season ~store finder~~ This speaks for itself all you have to do is enter your town or postcode and it will find the nearest super drug to you . Being an avid fan of the Superdrug stores and having written a review to that effect the other day, I thought I would visit the website to see if there is as wide a range of products available inline as in the shops. I wasn't disapointed! This site is awesome. It looks so lively and exciting and there are loads and loads of products to chose from. I was happt to see that SuperDrug's own brand products are available because I am a particular fan of them. They are every bit as good as brand name products and would go for them every time. It's a very simple matter to order here with an 'add to basket' system. Special offers are featured prominently and the site is really qucik to load. I have placed an order because I use the store a lot so it it turns out to be a problem free online shop, I will continue to place my order *online* rather than going into town to shop. Orders placed before 2pm shouls be despatched the same day, so I will wait with baited breath to see if I get my goods by the end of the week! I would definitely recommend this website. I's got everything you need. A large range of top quality goods, quick, easy to use and great design. Top marks.

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

I've been visiting the Superdrug site now for ages, but only to get my daily quota of ipoints. I usually click in, get my points and click right back out again. However, last week I decided to have a look around. I needed bits and pieces for me, darling daughters and darling hubby, so thought I'd give it a go, especially as it was mid-week and I didn't have the time or energy to wander around town. The search facility is pretty impressive - you can type in something as vague as MUSK and get a whole aray of products brought up for you. So off I went on a one-woman mission to single-handedly keep Superdrug afloat. They also have some quite good offers on, along thel ines of buy two get one free or buy one get one free. The downside to this of course is that these kind of offers are quite popular so you can't always be sure of getting the items you want as they often go out of stock quickly. The range of products is pretty good, covering everything from bottle teats to athlete foot cream and everything in between. If you spend over £20 at the moment you get free delivery at a saving of £2.50. Delivery is excellent - I placed my order late at night on a Tuesday and the goods were delivered on the following Thursday, nicely packaged and securely in one piece. You also get confirmatory emails to confirm that they've received and then despatched your order. They only list the quantities of what you've bought and NOT the item descriptions to protect your privacy. One of the bonus points of Superdrug is that if you need regular prescriptions, Superdrug will send you an email when they think it's time for you to get a repeat prescription. They then, providing you've filled in the necessary forms for consent and updated your prescription/pharmacy file, will contact your doctor for the prescription and then deliver it for free to your door. No more messing around, traipsing t
o the doctors and then the chemist. Bonus! The major downside to the site is that you can't pay by Visa Electron or Solo, but let's face it, both cards are pretty useless anyway so it's not really that surprising. You can of course pay by the usual Switch Visa etc.
