Advantages: easy, timesaving and moneysaving
Disadvantages: none
I've just had my very first home delivery fro tesco and i'm really pleased so had to tell you about it.
silly woman, you may think, but as a 55 year old woman i get really chuffed if i can manage, without help, to actually successfully complete a task from start to finish on the internet.
~
my daughters have been trying to shop with tesco online for a while now as our nearest shops are a good 10 minute walk away and i don't drive.
~ on first impressions it all looked rather daunting on tesco.com but once you get used to it becomes easier.
~
the total 'shopping' took me about 45 minutes as i found myself browsing as well as filling my basket, reading their 'ideas & recipes', multi -buys, value products etc
~
i am only familiar with the products sold at iceland (our only local supermarket) so was amazed at the range of items available.
~
this time i only bought food which was mainly frozen, fresh, chilled but i also bought some cans, cat food and value bleach (to test for dooyoo you of course!)
i love my salad dressings so treated myself to 2 x kraft which are half price at the moment and stocked up on tesco butter which is on offer.
we eat a lot of cheese so i found a few bogof offers and chose ones we only really eat as a treat.
~
i shall return to the site very soon as i was tempted by quite a few offers in the toiletries department
~
a couple of things i initially found confusing were -
~ the registration process - eg. why did our house have to have a nickname?
~ entering '2' items in the basket when buying a bogof
my delivery arrived between 7-9pm as i'd requested, the shopping was carried into the house (saving my poor back!), the driver explained what i was signing & there were no sustitutions made and all this for £3.50 delivery charge.
(i chose the cheapest time-slot just so i could give a tip.)
~
i'm well pleased with myself so next time i'll order £50 plus & get a free delivery by stocking up on everything i can think of, start baking ,cooking and filling my freezer.
conclusions
~
by shopping carefully i'm sure i saved a fair bit and had the opportunity to browse and consider new products for next time.
i saved time
i 've bought a few surprises for the family
i've saved my back!
~
my fridge & freezer is full now so i'm a happy little bunny - so far...
Summary: great shopping experience for me

- 21/08/08 I've been using it for some years and I'm a big fan. A piece of advice - remember to book your Christmas slot well in advance! |

- 20/08/08 I've done a shop twice now - it is definitely great for stocking up on freezer items, and bulky goods like cat food and litter, rice and pasta, particularly as I don't have a car like you. Not so sure about fresh fruit and veg though - I'd rather pick that myself. |

- 20/08/08 Hi, I have used this service too, and nine times out of tem it was great. One handy tip is to be very careful when ordering say a turnip, or carrots. I fyou get your wieght wrong --like I did. You will end up with the tiniest turnip in the world.... |
