Advantages: easy and stress free

Disadvantages: delivery charge

Ive been doing my food shopping online with Tesco for over a year now and to be honest can't really fault it.
Due to the lack of time me and my wife decided to try to do our food shopping online this is our experience.

How it all began:
Firstly we went online and got up Tesco website and all you need to do is enter your email address, postcode and clubcard number ( if you have one ). It will then obviously tell you if they deliver in your area, if they do great you get directed to another page where you give your name, confirm your address the you have to come up with a password to ( one that you will remember ) and that is it simple. you can start shopping.

First order:

Once you have logged in you get different headings food and drink, health and beauty, baby and toddler, house and pet. Then all you need to is go to the relevant section. Once you are there it will the give you different sections like fruit and veg or bakery and cakes etc, then once you go into that it will give you smaller sections so you can limit you search even more, for example apples and pears ( no thats not for cockney slang! ). It sounds quite complicated but it really isn't my wife is rubbish at using the computer but she can do it!

It does give you a place where you can enter something specific you are looking for and once you have typed it in it will give you certain options for example sausages. Once you have completed your order you just go to the checkout button click on it and follow the instructions. Firstly it will ask you to book a delivery slot the choice is 7 days a week from 9am till 11pm, the delivery charge varies from £4 to £6. Once you have chosen the slot you want ( it comes in 2 hour slots for example 9 tll 11 am ) click on the slot and it will direct you to the payment page and you enter your card details ( secured page ) and that is pretty much it, easy.

The pros

You don't have the hassle of trapsing around a busy supermarket, we have two children, one 18 months who wants to run off eveywhere, and one six who wants everything!.

You only buy what you need, if you go round the supermarket and see a good offer like Bogof you get it even if you dont want it as you think its a bargin ( whats all that about! ) so NO impulse buying.

You can shop at your own leisure at home and take your time and do it when the kids are in bed ( phew ) so you aren't distracted and highly stressed.

You can add stuff take stuff off as you please, you just need to remember to checkout again after any change and you need to do it before the cut off point when they are actually doing your shopping

Its only just been introduced but whenever you add something to your trolley if theres a cheaper option they will tell you so you can opt for something chaeper if its suited to you. I love this option and have found loads of bargins this way.

You can get clubcard points added eventhough you shop online you just need to make sure you entered it when you registered.

You can choose to have your shopping pack in bags or using just limited bags, this is great as we all care for the environment and plus I get annoyed when you get overpaowered with carrier bags. If you opt for no bags you also get green point on your clubcard for not using them, bargin!.

When you get the shopping the delivery drivers are always really nice, we havent had a horrible one yet. If a line you have ordered isn't available they substitute it, if you don't want the substiture they just take it back. they do give you a deatailed print of your order and if yiou are not satisfied with anything there is a number to phine. we have been doing this for well over a year and have never had to do this.

Once you have completed your first shop it will remember what you have ordered and put it in your favourites so if you want to order them again just click on your favourites and it will show all you have ordered before.

cons:

the delivery charge can be as much as £6, but we live a 20 minute drive from our nearest Tesco so you weigh out the petrol money its about even.

You cant see what you are buying, my wife has a big thing about meat and fruit and veg that she likes to pick her own.
It can be quite times consuming to start with but its like everything, the more you do it the better you get!.

If im honest thats all the cons I can think of!

So as you can see the pros out number the cons, I cannot fault the service they provide it is fab and I think with Tesco you know you are getting quality.
I would be happy if I never went to another supermarket again what more can you ask for than stress free shopping.

Summary: pros out mumber the cons
