Advantages: Convienience, easy to use website
Disadvantages: Choosing substitutions
My parents started using Tesco.com pretty much from the word go. They worked full time and it seemed the best and easiest option for them. I lived at home until 3 years ago so would help with the unloading etc but never the order.
Once I moved out, I gave it a go myself and found my experience to be a positive one. At first, I only had a delivery when I had large, bulky items. I would then go to the shop for the fresh, day to day products.
However, when I was pregnant (and it was December!!) I decided I would use Tesco on a regular basis.
The website is easy to use, like anything it does take a little getting used to.
You can search for food by either clicking into catergories and sub catergories or by just typing in the search bar what you would like. Once you have shopped there, you can view your favourites so you can simply re order items.
They also have areas on the site like their £1 offers or their fruit & veg pledge which you can click into and see what offers are on.
When you place the order you can select whether you would accept substitutions if a product you have ordered is out of stock. You don't need to accept this product, the driver will bring it and you can decide then.
Delivery is a 2 hour slot (of your choice) and on the day of your choice. In all the time myself & my family have used Tesco.com we've never had a late delivery.
Overall, I have found tesco.com to be a great home delivery service and will use them time and time again.
Summary: Definately a good idea (in my opinion!)
