Advantages: Convenience, money saving

Disadvantages: Sometimes the alternatives they provide aren't the best.

I have been doin my grocery shopping on-line with Tesco for about 6 months now and have found both positive and negative points with it, although the problems I have had have always been solved and compensated without question, so here goes;

From a positive point of view not having to drag my 3 children around the supermarket is a definate bonus and for some reason they all love helping me unpack the crates when the 'Tesco man' comes! I have always found the delivery drivers helpful, often finding something small for the little one to carry etc. Delivery costs between £3.50 and £6.00 depending on the delivery slot you chose and the slots are chosen within 2 hour limits for example you can choose to have it delivered between 6pm and 8pm, but believe it or not I still actually spend less per week on my shopping, probably because i do not have my kids (and partner) slipping extras into the trolly and I do not have the temptation of goodies (also helps the diet) and special offers making it easy to stick to a list. This does not mean you miss out on viweing the special offers as you can click to view these on line and for each product you search you can choose to view cheaper alternatives, you can also view the ingredients and other product information with just one click. Also the time saved is a definate bonus for me, due to other commitments we nearly always have to shop at weekends and I have always resented wasting 2 hours of our family time food shopping!!!

Problems I have encountered are once when they were short staffed my shopping wasn't delivered on Friday evening as requested but we were given the choice to collect from store or have free delivery the following day, we chose to collect from store and as well as refunding our delivery charge we were given £10 off our next shop, 2 bottles of wine and a box of chocolates, which made for a really good Friday night, we have also had money knocked off when our delivery has been late. Sometimes if a product isn't in stock Tesco will choose a replacement and these aren't always very good, maybe a much more expensive alternative or a pack thats too large or small and on the odd occiasion actually quite bizarre, but the driver will bring these to your attention and if you don't want them he will take them away and knock them straight off your bill.

All in all I have been really happy with the Tesco grocery delivery service and when I haven't the service I have recieved has been exceptional - one word of advice when I did my first on line order I ordered loose bananas and thought I was ordering by the bunch/weight guide-line, so I input 1, when my shopping arrived I literally had one banana and I'm sure the person doing my shopping had a right giggle at me as they put in the smallest banana I have ever seen in my life, taught me to read what I'm ordering properly.

Summary: Definately a great help!

Great review, although it could do with spacing between paragraphs! :o)
