Advantages: not having to go shopping and an easy to use website

Disadvantages: not getting to choose your own fresh products

Tesco.com is a great way to do your grocery shopping if like me you hate having to fight your way around supermarkets trying to avoid people and there trolly's whilst they stand in the middle of the isle talking to there friend.

It is great, you go on to the web site and pick your delivery slot, this is a 2 hour allotted time when you want your groceries to be delivered to your door. Prices for this vary on the time and day you choose, normally the most expensive is £5.50 although this increases at busier times like christmas and new year.

Once you have booked your delivery slot it is then reserved for you for 2 hours until you finish choosing your items. If you want to change your order you can do so untill the morning of the delivery (or the night before for early morning orders), this means you can delete items you no longer need, add items you forgot and even cancel the full order, you can also change the delivery time to a more convenient one if you need too (depending on the availability of other times and days).

All the products are hand picked at your local tescos by a personal shopper, they promise to get you the best available and freshes produce. I have often found this the case and the one time that we ordered meat and the freshest had a sell by date that was in a couple of days time they told me when they brought it to the door so I could choose to send it back. Also if a product you wanted is not in stock they bring an alternative, when this happens they tell you and you can choose to keep the alternative or do without.

You never get charged until your shopping has gone through a till and you always get the special offers and promotions. If you send an item back this gets refunded onto your card. The delivery driver takes unwanted items away with them.

There is a section on the website that lets you put in your club card account number and earn club card points. You also earn green points by getting your food delivered without bags.

The website is well designed and easy to navigate, there are a few ways you can choose your products.

The first is using the different product menus, these take you to all the different places in the store like frozen, bakery and baby. This allows you to look through all the different choices you have and gives you variety, I no longer use this way as I always found lots of things I wanted but didn't need.

Then theres the favourite section, this lets you store your favourite and most bought items, It also lets you pick items off of previous orders, this is great if you buy the same things over and over again.

The last is my favourite way, express shopper. This is just like a shopping list, you type in the items you want and then as you go down the list one by one you are brought up a list of all the items that fit you description, this works better if you use the full name of the product you want for example "walkers cheese and onion 6 pack" if you use a simpler description you can then have you pick of many brands for example "crisps". The express shopper stops impulse buys and lets you stick to the things you need.

There is also a section that has all the latest offers, I always check this first to see if anything takes my fancy or any cheep alternatives to things I am going to buy.

The check out process is very simple and straight forward and has a place to enter voucher codes and offer codes.

The only down side is that although you can put notes in for he shopper to see when it comes to things like fresh meat and single fruit and veg you often get the biggest and most expensive. I have often put the note " a small one for 2 people please" when ordering a joint of meat and it has been so big I have cut it in half and it has done 2 meals. This could just be my local tescos though and I can not say its the same all over.

I have tried the Asda website and in comparison the tescos website is clearer and easier to use and it makes doing your shopping easy and stress free.

Summary: I would recommend tescos.com to all.
