Advantages: simple, quick
Disadvantages: None
I do a lot of my shopping online these days, with a trolley hating toddler it's a godsend!
I have only ever used Tesco for online shopping, mainly because I have felt the service is good.
It works like this: You register, easy; you only have to put your card details and clubcard details in once. When you want to shop you choose two hour time slot from early in the morning till late at night. Only once has my order arrived out of the time slot, an then they were 10 minutes early and telephoned first to check I was in.
On the website you can navigate through the different departments and you can choose to look at just the offers which is very handy, you often see things you would miss in the supermarket.
The best bit of the site is that you can see all the item you have previously order or bought in store if you used you clubcard so often I only go through this list adding what I need. It can literally take only 15 minutes to do a big shop (I wouldn't even get there in that time). If you have forgotten something after you have checked out, you can go back in and amend your order whenever you like, as many times as you like up until 11pm the day before your delivery.
Tesco will from time to time send you emails with promotional codes for extra points or money off a minimum spend but you can often get codes by searching forums on money saving sites.
You can choose to have your shopping delivered with or without bags (where necessary they will use bags, for bleach e.t.c.) and they will take your old carrier bags away. They deliver in crates and have to bring your shopping to the fridge, or doorstep, whichever you choose.
Delivery prices vary between £3.50 and £6 depending on the time of the day and day of the week but you know this when you book the slot.
