Advantages: quick and easy
Disadvantages: you dont always get the standard of fresh goods you may like
I have always gone into the local Tesco store to do the 'big shop', but recently I have been using the online site to do the shopping and get it delivered to the door.
The website is very easy to use, once you have signed up you can start shopping straight away. You just click on the 'groceries' tab at the top and start loading your virtual cart. Of course you can order other items as well as groceries, although I haven't done this. One thing to be aware of is that when using the search box to find your products you have to type in the exact name or it will not find the product. For example I incorrectly spelt mullerlite 'muller light' and it came up that no product was found.
There is a tab of 'special offers' which ensures you don't miss the bargains that are normally clearly highlighted in the store. But on the other hand, if you don't click on that tab shopping online helps you to not purchase items you don't actually need.
I have found that the quality of fruit and vegetables is not to the standard I would chose if I picked them myself. Although on my last online shop I used the 'write a note' tab and asked for green, healthy bananas, the ones that were delivered were exactly what I asked for. But writing a note on every piece of fruit and veg you order is time consuming, it's a shame they don't just send the good stuff automatically.
If the store don't have the items you have ordered they will send a replacement, which I have found are usually a more expensive version. But when the delivery arrives you have the choice whether to accept the replacement or not.
One more point, it is best to book your delivery time as soon as you log on. If not, you can compete all the shopping and find that the delivery time you need is not available.
Summary: great if your having a lazy week
