Advantages: Simple to use, great selection of delivery slots

There are many supermarkets that now offer online grocery shopping - I personally have only used Tesco.com

The Site

The site is very user friendly, once you have signed in you are greeted with categories such as special offers (of which I find really handy as I detest walking around the supermarket trying to find all of the offers!) my favourites which is also a fantastic feature - this links through to your clubcard and everything that you have recently purchased in store will show up in this area making it quick and easy to order repeat items. There is also an express shopping list - you are able to type in everything you need at once and once you submit your information it lists all of the possible products for you to choose from.

The one thing I dislike with tesco.com is that it does not take your offers and discounts off at the checkout - this is only done on your bill once your groceries are delivered to your door. I always feel like my shopping is expensive and do not like not knowing how much I have actually spent.

Shopping
The site is easy to navigate with the foods grouped together as they would be in the supermarket such as dairy, bread and cakes, frozen goods, fruit and vegetables, beauty, baby and so on. If you are purchasing a buy one get one free item then you must remember to add to items in the basket as Tesco does not do this themselves and you will find yourself being charged for the 1 item.

Using your vouchers

You are able to use your clubcard vouchers on the site and there are various vouchers dotted around the web be it money off a certain spend or extra clubcard points.



Delivery

You can opt for bagless delivery which in my experience is rather messy and utter chaos but you do receive green clubcard points for this. But when you choose for your delivery to be received with carrier bags you are then presented sometimes with just 1 item in each and this seems a complete waste!

I like that you are able to select a variety of timeslots that only require you to stay in for 2 hours to wait for your shopping. Obviously the out of hours delivery slots work out much cheaper than peak times.

The delivery drivers are very polite and even offer to carry the items straight to your kitchen.

Substitutes

Occasionally when you shopping is delivered an item may be out of stock - this will be deducted from your bill - sometimes they will substitute your out of stock item with one of similar value. If the item costs more then they will refund you the difference.

Missing Items

I have occasionally come across some missing items in my deliveries - these are sorted out quite easily with a quick call to customer services.

Some people think that online food shopping is lazy but for me it is a lifesaver. When I leave work the supermarkets are packed full and venturing out at a weekend does not bare thinking about. It is also great for eldery people who are unable to leave the house and for people with no transport.
