Advantages: Saves time, Practical, Efficient

Disadvantages: You don’t get all the cheap offers in real shops, Can be incontinent when you don’t get what you need, Delivery time can be unpractical

When developing websites is part of your profession that is when you can distinguish a good system from a bad one.

Tesco online shopping as a system as amazing good, you can feel the amount of effort they have put in it to satisfy everybody’s needs. But still it has its advantages and disadvantages; if they concentrate on this part of their business they might compete the others.

The whole site overall prototype is acceptable to my eye but it’s not easy to follow for first time users or just ordinary not advanced Internet users.
When you try to go through “Help” pages, there is too much information in one page and you have to scroll to the deep bottom sometimes to get a word or two on what you are actually looking for.
Font is too small and if you enlarge it by using your browser, it doesn’t become user friendly at all.

Nevertheless when it’s time for buying the items, departments categories are really good, more or less you can find what you are looking by the name of the department, but sometimes the site deals with the customer as if they already know Tesco or dealt with it before.
When you choose a particular department and select and specific category the amount of items you get are endless, which is fantastic sometimes in real life when don’t spot the amount of items on one shelve but displaying them on one page was really tiring on the eye. You have to keep on scrolling and scrolling until you find what you are looking for.

From the positive point of you the offers on the site were really good, for example I like Muller yoghurts and they had offers like four in a packet with something like 20% reduced price although in reality I wouldn’t have bought it but it was good to find it on the site, since then when I go to the shop I always look for it.

When the items were delivered some were missing, I was not impressed with that because I had a dinner party and
I actually had to go again to another shop and buy the items, as they can’t deliver them again.
They also had a problem on their website with their “buy one get one free” promotion. They had this offer on tooth brushes, when I selected one item in my basket it charged me for one only but it didn’t offer the second one for free and when I updated the basket to two of the same item, still it charged for both? Didn’t know what to do, so I ordered one in the end hoping that the other one might be in the order delivery for free. When the order arrived, I received only one.

I guess I am one of the people who always like real life shopping, looking and touching things; it’s kind of a pleasure sometimes more than just a duty nevertheless sometimes I don’t have the time to do that when I come back home late at night after later working hours and have no energy to move.

I find shopping with Tesco online is very handy when you don’t have the time to leave your house but it is not a good substitute for real life shopping when you can shop by yourself. I can’t get the end of the day deals I get in the real shop like on breads and milk, cakes etc… How am I supposed to find them if they are not online?

Again shopping with Tesco online has its advantages and disadvantages but the joy of real life shopping, tasting and touching can’t be substituted with a click of a mouse button.

Teachers of english should hopefully be less patronising and read the opinion in the context that it was written as a very good early effort from a new member
