Absolutely terrible company! Do not order from them! The marginal savings on products does not make up for the amount of time you will be left waiting for the delivery! They quote 5-7 days.
After 14 days I had seen no dispatch email so got in touch. They informed me that a few items from my order were out of stock! Why they are allowed to take orders and then your money when they have no stock of the items your ordered and therefore no intention of honouring the order I do not know.
Customer service is so poor they do not even contact you to advise of the delay. They waited for me to query where my order was. I was told numerous different dates they were expecting delivery of stock, each time it didn't happen. What a surprise. I gave up and cancelled the order. I am currently awaiting a refund so we will see how long that takes. I will be getting in touch with my bank if it takes longer than a week.
Other sites have to advertise when they have no stock and miss out on the order but these people get away with misleading customers! They just want the order so they take it anyway and then leave you waiting for your order. As I said I think it is awful I was not contacted in the 2 weeks I was waiting for the order to explain the delay. To then be fed different stories about waiting for stock is just not on.
I would rather pay fractionally more for my order elsewhere and actually receive my order in good time.

I ordered a plate from Cooks Kitchen (mostly because I wanted to use a smaller company rather than Amazon) on 26th November for my brother-in-law's birthday and requested delivery direct to his address. No mention was made at the time of any stock problems. I asked my sister after the event almost 2 weeks later whether his gift had been delivered. It hadn't.
When I followed up with the company, they - without apology - said that they had no stock and wouldn't have any until January. Although they offered a refund, they offered no goodwill gesture for the inconvenience and complete lack of communication. When I tried to escalate my case to the managing director on the advice of the customer service team, two emails went completely ignored.
I reluctantly accepted just a refund but this was finally processed on 8th January after two emails to chase. Their stock taking is poor and customer service very nonchalant.
I would never use the company again nor could I recommend them to a friend.
I ordered some Boden kitchen canisters for my nieces wedding present a few months ago & even though they showed as in stock when I ordered them, they did not arrive. I queried this several times & I had a few emails telling me they were from abroad but would be with me shortly & I would receive an email to tell me they were to be despatched. They still didn't turn up & I had no email so I ordered from another company. The day I tried to cancel the order I was told thay had been despatched & could not cancel. Strange & suspicious timing!!! So they were delivered a few days later & as I had already managed to buy them elsewhere & had them delivered within 2 days, I tried to refuse the delivery. This was not allowed so & was left with a box of canisters I no longer needed. I emailed them to tell them this but they were just not willing to accept their culpability in the matter & would not pay the return courier costs so I had to pay £10 to return their goods. Terrible customer care & misleading stock information. I would NEVER use them again & none of my friends or family would either. Only when this happened & I spoke about it, there were other people who had had bad experiences with them too ... wish I had known this before ordering from them. Expensive lesson learnt.
Gave 1 star as it is the least the system will allow but if I could have given none I would have.
I had read some negative reviews of thecookskitchen.com but decided to purchase from them anyway as it wasn't for a large amount and their postage rates were cheaper than most. Their service was excellent-quick postage, kept informed of all stages of my order and, when I needed to return the item, the response was quick, friendly and helpful and I was even informed when the money had gone back onto my card. I'll definitely shop with them again.
I don't know what all these people are talking about - I've ordered from the Cooks Kitchen loads of times and I've never had any problems - they've gone to great lengths to make sure I'm happy, even with difficult orders. I run a cafe so whenever I need more bits and pieces for my kitchen I turn to The Cooks Kitchen - it's a brilliant site for good value kitchen ware - they sell high quality stuff at great prices. The last time I used the site I ordered 12 bodum mugs and I did have to wait a little bit because of stocking issues, but they kept in contact the whole time, making sure I was happy. When the mugs did arrive, one of them had got a bit chipped in the post. I called customer services straight away and they were so helpful - they sent me a replacement immediately, even though I had said it wasn't urgent. I love this site and will continue to use it in the future.
I have recently ordered from the cooks kitchen and found the staff to be very helpful. Having received my order I found that the strings on the apron I ordered were too short and would not go around my tummy. I was so dispapointed as I needed this item to start cookery classes due to me retiring and needing a hobby. I contacted Jackie at The Cooks Kitchen and explained the problem. She contacted the people who supply the aprons and she very kindly arranged with them to have extra long strings attached for me which was perfect. This has been my first order with The Cooks Kitchen but I would not hesitate in using them again for other products in the future.
Have just ordered and received my delivery from The Cooks Kitchen and am absolutely chuffed with the item I received. It was beautifully packaged - despite the fact that I was worried that getting a set of glasses through mail order might be a bad idea - I can say that everything arrived in 1 piece and within a week of me having placed my order. No worries here. Happy to recommend this shop. I will be back.
I would recommend this shop. Bought several times from them and never had a problem. I have honestly found the company easy to deal with - by e-mail or phone - you even get to speak to a real person! The selection of kitchen stuff is massive and their prices good. The only blip was when I ordered a few weeks ago and there was a slight delay on delivery but Jackie in customer services contacted me straight away to let me know of the delay and check I was OK to wait for delivery.
The last time I shopped I bought a microplane grater as it was listed as their must have product of the month. I was not sure which size to go for so I bought a coarse grater, which worked out well - thanks for that as I agree with the person in the company who recommends these products that it is an absolute kitchen essential. I will be back to order again.
I came across their very nice website, found that they had exactly what I wanted and so put an order in. The order was immediately acknowledged on the 'Track Your Order' page stating that the page would be updated and I would be emailed on dispatch. 11 days later the STATUS was updated 'COMPLETE. Order shipped - you should receive it within the next 3 days.', the order arrived 9 days later, luckily on the exact day that I needed it. The items were exactly what I wanted, so no complaints about the goods I am quite happy with them.When I found these reviews, shortly after I had ordered, I was worried that things would go wrong but decided to be patient, this paid off in the end. I would have appreciated better communication about the delays. I probably won't order from them again though.
The cooks kitchen is simply the worst company I have ever dealt with.
The promises are false and the customer services have been reported to trading standards. Apparently it was not the first complaint

They have taken money and not delivered.
The websites lull you into a false sense of security but there is nothing to back it up. I recommend that everyone who has had trouble with them should talk to their bank and get the money refunded. Your banks will do this quite happily and take the money back from them if you have not had the goods delivered! The great thing about this is that if enough people do this then the banks will withdraw their ability to accept credit cards which is about the only way to deal with people of this nature. This company are as bad as it gets and deserve to have their ability to trade removed
Strange coincidence that the name of last (and only good) review of thecookskitchen is the same as the advertising manager for the company - ummm, Giles is not that common a name. Just shows the incompetence of the staff that he would use his real name!
I have always had excellent experiences with the cooks kitchen. The range is fabulous and I have only received excellent customer service. I am a convert.
thecookskitchen.com and www.kitchenware.co.uk have the same contact number, sell the same things but have different websites: who are they trying to deceive? Still having extreme problems with them and I am clearly not alone (see http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews100570.html) as well as this site for both websites. Complaints do not get answered despite what they misleadingly say on their site and 'customer services' put the phone down on you. They've taken my money but are not delivering.
There are plenty of other sites you can reliably use to get your products.
Ps. it's only given 1 star because that is the lowest score possible.
Ordered goods on over a month ago. Goods still not received. No reply to multiple emails. Unreliable!
The customer services at The Cook kitchen is appauling, I would advise anyone to avoid using this site. Although the goods being sold on this site are good you will have a long wait before getting them. I have waited nearly a month for mine when it was promised delivery within 10 days, and they still havent arrived. The contact details they give you on the website arent worth trying as they dont reply to emails and they dont answer the phone if you call them enough times they will take the phone of the hook.
