Advantages: Very very cheap
Disadvantages: Limited range
I've been using The Book People for ages through their catalogue and recently on line. Although choice is limited and they do run out of stock, the prices are rock bottom. The range covers books for children of all ages, current fiction, classic fiction, hobbies and reference. In my opinion it's on the childrens range where The Book People really score. They usually have on offer several sets of story books, graded by age, by quality publishers such as Red Fox and Random House, and well known authors such as Dick King Smith. You'll pick up a set of ten picture books for £6.99 - one of these would cost £4.99 on the High Street. Other bargains I have found at The Book People include a hard back 'Hannibal' at £4.99 and a slip cased hardback set of the first three Harry Potters at £9.99. Their modern classic sets are always also a great buy. It's well worth checking out The Book People on a regular basis. They may not have what you're looking for but if they do it's sure to be a good buy.

- 04/04/01 So you did write short ops, once! Actually I'm considering going back to the shorter op-lengths for my next one, as I think they're easier reads (when they're this good, of course!).
