I went out this morning and upon my return I was greeted by a huge parcel. I could not wait to get this little beauty inside and unwrap it.

I made sure the kids were occupied before creeping up to my bedroom with my purchase.

The anticipation is better than foreplay. The opening of the parcel is better than stripping off your undies. Getting your clammy mitts on the contents is better than running your hands all over your mans freshly showered bare chest. And, best of all ... It doesn't take batteries so no running out of power at that crucial moment ;o)

What am I talking about? You know don't you? You're just teasing me. Yes ... I got my delivery from The Book People today!

Now, this was no normal Book People Delivery, they are fantastic enough normally but this delivery made me want to strip off and swing from the chandeliers (if I had any). This my friends was my 'Lucky dip' delivery! For me this is better than Christmas and my Birthday put together ... oh OK I'll chuck Easter in too.

Inside the box were three separately wrapped selections of books which I had ordered. These are 'Lucky dips'. You simply choose the age range you want and you will be sent ten books for children in that age range. I ordered a selection for Babies, one for 3-6 year olds and one for 6-9 year olds. Each selection includes ten books for the measly, the piddly, the absolutely astonishing price of FIVE POUNDS!!!

I want you to get a feel for the types and quality of books you will receive. Because this is a 'Lucky dip' promotion you won't know the exact titles until you open the box but I'm sure like me you will be delighted. The prices I'm quoting are the retail prices printed on the book. Remember, I got each set of ten books for FIVE POUNDS!!! (I can't say that enough, can you tell I'm excited??!)

I shall go through each set of books with you s
o can get an idea of the money I have saved and why I am so excited about my purchase.

How the hell can you resist a bargain like that? I suggest you get your lucky dips very very quickly before you miss out. As you can see the books you get are good quality and there are even some classics like Roald dahl and Beatrix Potter.

My children are very very happy bunnies.

The Book People website is www.thebookpeople.com. I have just tried it and it's mighty busy. Best time to try it is early in the morning or late evening.

Happy Bargain hunting!

I think I'll go for a lie down now, mmmm, maybe I'll just have a little read of The lion the witch and the wardrobe first...

I use the Book People a lot and I love them. A word of caution about the adult lucky dips they sometimes offer, though, I got one once expecting a mix of fiction but what actually arrived was a raft of women's romance novels :o( It was a disaster as I had only paid 10 pounds and oxfam got the benefit, but I think the children's lucky dips are probably the way to go.
