Just the same story, already been through the fiasco of waiting at least 15 days before they are willing to even start investigating with Royal Mail, did ask for and received a tracking number (of which Royal Mail had no trace) so they said thay would re despatch, guess what, that was ten days ago and still nothing. Have now demanded a refund but they don't even bother to reply, as others have said, it's a nice little earner for them with your money in their bank account.
The emails I have received all seem to be sent by someone called Chris, I wish I could get my hands on him, this really shouldn't be allowed, this sort of behaviour ruins the usefulness of ordering on the internet, I just wish I had read the reviews before I USED THEM. my order number was #19801 and ID no #INH335471 if anyone is interested in verifying.

Sent an email to the web hosting company one of the review listed (unitedhosting.co.uk) they replied straight away and said they had already removed their facility from him, can anyone help and post the name of the hosting company so that we can request his removal, if there's no host he can't trade!!
This is the worst company I have ever used. If this had been my first experience of buying on line it would have been my last. I ordered from them on 19th June, when my order had not arrived after 10 days I sent them an email to which I got the same reply that others have also received, that my item had been dispatched by post and that I had to wait for 15 days before they could investigate. I did as asked waiting 15 working days but still nothing they are very good at replying to emails but as they have no telephone number you cannot speak to anyone. When I emailed them again they apolagised and said they would re send my order, this time I was not so willing to wait the 15 days as before and after reading the problems of other customers I have today contacted them asking for a full refund and have informed Barclaycard of my problems in the hope that they can oversee my refund. I would not recomend this company if they were the last company on earth.
I am very worried about this site. Money was taken for my order on 15th April 2009 but goods never received. Royal Mail was blamed. I was asked to wait for 15 days before the company could make a claim against Royal Mail and then was offered a replacement or refund. I foolishly asked for a replacement which, again, didn't arrive and "Chris" is furious with Royal Mail! Have now asked for a refund, which I am still waiting for. Having now done some research it seems I am not alone, there are many, many people who have had identical "email" corespondence. and not received goods or refunds. You can see from reviews on this site, also moneysavingexpert.com and Ciao. I have informed Trading Standards and followed the procedure which is to send a recorded delivery letter cancelling contract and asking for a refund within 30 days and a reply to my letter within 14 days of receipt. Please do not attempt to buy anything from this site The perfume Emporium Co UK - not to be confused with the American site The Perfume Emporium which seems to have good reviews.
It appears that I, like many others, have suffered from the experience of dealing with a company that legally works just within the law, but in my opinion lacks common decency, ethics and any sense of morality....and also suffers from an appalling postal service problem! The process goes something like this:
Step 1 - You place the order and wait expectantly for it to arrive within the stated 2 days
Step 2 - After around a week you chase the order (only able to do by email as no telephone!) and a reply is received stating it was sent and how disappointed they are and that you will need to wait for 8 working days as per their terms
Step 3 - After more emails back and forth including providing a Post Office Tracking number (but only when requested) - see if you get one......my number was BR089127773GB - what's yours!? and guess what - yes it showed as not being delivered!
Step 4 - Suddenly the minimum time to wait now (as just advised by the Post Office to him) has now extended to 15 working days as the PO will not investigate until that length of time has passed
Step 5 - This is where I can't believe how gullible I was....I agreed to wait 15 working days from when it was posted
Step 6 - 15 working days have passed and I contact Perfume Emporium again requesting that the item is sent by Special Delivery - surprisingly PE advised me that they don't offer that service and would the previous way of sending the item be acceptable! - Clearly not; so I ask for a refund
Step 7 - Email comes back that the refund will be made 'in accordance with their terms' AT LAST THE PENNY DROPS AND THE ALARM BELLS SOUND - IF IT SMELLS ROTTEN.......and I do what I always used to do ......search the web for reviews. Let me be kind....... PE do not fair well! And I find lots of other victims on CIAO and also at dooyoo
Step 8 - From reading other reviews I can expect it to take around another 30 days before I supposedly get my refund, (Distant Selling Regulations) but from the comments I have read it doesn't look good even after the 30 days have passed.
Step 9 - Sure enough and true to type, within the hour I receive the following email from PE:
We aim to process refunds within 48 hours, however, this can take up to 30 days in line with the Distance Selling Regulations.
Step 10 - Ring credit card and speak to Charge Back Dept who require all sorts of information, copies of correspondence etc to investigate - pain to do but PE need to answer to this.
Step 11 - Discuss PE to local Office of Fair Trading/Consumer Advice Centre who advised me to write to PE at their address - which is Chris Collings MD @

and state that as the order has not been delivered I wish to cancel the order under time of the essence and require a full refund of £xxxx within the next 10 days. It may help speed it up
Step 12 - Persevere. PE should not be allowed to get away with this - My opinion is that he hopes people will give up as he hides behind the system - lets all try and get justice served. If you have suffered in a similar way to me please report The Perfume Emporium to your local Consumer Direct Organisation 08454 040506 www.consumerdirect.gov.uk or visit 'Noto 0870' http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php for none 0845 number for your local office. Make sure they take your complaint seriously by getting a reference number allotted to it. The more people that complain the quicker they will investigate them
I now wish that I had read all these reviews before purchasing my perfume from The Perfume Emporium UK!!! I should also have been alerted to the fact that they do not have a telephone and email or snail mail are the only means of contact.
I purchased some perfume from them in March and as per many others never received it and after numerous emails and delays to allow for the postal system, I was asked whether I wished to reorder or for a refund. I opted for the refund as I had no intention of going through all that pahlava again. After about a week I found that my refund had NOT been made. I emailed Perfume Emp. to enquire as to where my refund was to be told under DISTANCE SELLING REGULATIONS that I had to wait 30 days!!! After 30 days had expired, still no refund. I am now going through the various channels to try and recover my refund, as my Visa company will not pay out when under £100. Hopefully I will be successful or be satisfied that the relevant authorities will CLOSE THEM DOWN!!! Also is it just a one-man company i.e. CHRIS (male or female - do they have a surname?)
I also ordered from this company on the 01/03/2009. My order was apparently dispatched on 03/03/2009 and I am still waiting for the perfume now. On the 24/03/2009 I was offered a refund of the full amount inc p&p of £28.88; and this I am still awaiting on. After contacting the company again I recieved no response, only later to be told I would have to wait up to 30 days for a refund in line with the 'Distance selling regulation'. It has now been thirty days, The company have stopped responding to my emails, they failed to tell me the result of the 'claim' they put in with royal mail too. The service I have recieved from this company is appaling. I ordered the perfume for my mom's 50th birthday, it has upset me more to not be able to present it. I just want the money back.
Similar experience to many of the others, order failed to arrive although told it had been sent by recorded delivery, refused to enter into any dialogue with me claiming that my dispute was with the Royal Mail, I am very scepitical as whether the order was sent although have no proof, after almost 2 months of persistant complaints I did recieve a refund.
I placed an order on 11th February and are still waiting. The story is exactly as all the others Lost in post, wait for Royal Mail, Number given re credit made and no such number with Mastercard.Do not purchase from this company they are working a racket.I have been ask to put a star in for rating. They rate zero.
DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE!Just like the majority of the other reviewers, I ordered and was told by e-mail that the perfume had been despatched two days later. Not true. They made me wait 20 days after it failed to show before they even acknowledged it was missing. Then they blamed Royal Mail. As if! It's more likely that they didn't have it in stock, didn't despatch it at all and rely on nabbing your money and taking ages to refund it for cashflow.I'd never use them again. I'd give them no stars if I could. AVOID!
I ordered perfume from this company on 18th Feb, they said it was dispatched on 20th Feb by first class Royal Mail. After 3.5 weeks it had not arrived, they now tell me it will take up to 30 days for a refund to be credited to my account. It is a disgrace that this company gets away with it. On reading the Reviews this is nothing new, I just wish I had read them before ordering. PLEASE BE WARNED - AVOID WITH A BARGE POLE. I give a NIL rating although I had to put in a rating.
Placed my order on 12/01/09, was told it was dispatched first class recored delivery on 12/01/09! Yeah right! 2 weeks later and still no perfume! I have emailed them 3 times, I have had 2 emails back within a couple of days of me sending them. I asked them for the tracking number for Royal Mail so I could find out what had happened. They emailed me the number, but when I spoke to Royal Mail, the number I had been given is used only by Brittannia music club!! This was identified by the 2 first letters at the beginning of the code!! I have since spoken to Consumers Direct who have advised me to ask for my money back and cancel the order! I am still waiting for a response to that email!! I really would NOT recommend this website to anyone! I think the way I have been treated is disgusting! I ordered this perfume to wear at my Dad's funeral as it was his favourite and I am really angry that it hasn't arrived! They were quick enough to take my money though!
11/02/09- An Update!
My perfume never showed up, but I was contacted after 15 working days & I was given a full refund including p&p, so for that I am very greatful.
Absolutely rubbish service still have not had xmas delivery 'apparently' posted begining of Dec 08. No replies to emails. If you value your money do not shop here you will loose it!!!!I would not give it any stars but this review site wanted at least one!
Totally gutted!! Just found these reviews and wish I had looked prior to ordering from the Perfume Emporium. I ordered 8th Dec, dispatched supposedly 10th Dec.... still waiting 22nd Dec even though its send 1st class recorded. Think we have all been conned guys! I have also like many of you, written several emails to which I have received nothing in response! Dont get me wrong, it looks like a lovely website and very easy to use, however they take your payment very promptly and then fail to deliver in every aspect! They are truly the worst Company I have ever used! DO NOT USE THEM!
