My other half is in a band, as are most of my friends. As such, I have over the years brought a lot of musical related items. With my fiancé being a very keen guitarist, I have brought guitars as presents and also buy strings and picks while out and about for the dear boy on occasion too.

Most instrument consumables (cables, picks and strings mainly) are quite varied in price as you go from place to place, as such its often that you'll find somewhere new that is a lot cheaper than where you would normally buy things.

Recently while doing a search online for a specific type of guitar string, (Ernie Ball Super Slinky Pink Pack), that my boy uses, I stumbled across T&T Music Supplies. Usually we'll buy strings and such like from our local high street music shop, this being the only one in our town. If not then the practice space that his band use have a small shop that also sells such bits, but both vary greatly in price and are a lot more expensive than buying online.

The website is www.tntmusicsupplies.co.uk and I noticed straight away that they are based near to me, so I had a look. The site is a simple and stylish blue with tabs for contact details, customer log in, item listings and a helpful search function.

I like that on the main page I could see that they stocked the strings I was after and also for a reasonable price of £5.95. Some places charge as high as £7.50! Which although isn't bank breaking, it does add up as this is that kind of item that musicians will no doubt be buying frequently. They also have some of the other favourite and most commonly brought items that they stock on the main page, from here you can add them straight to your basket without having to go through the search function or browse the shop, which is a great feature.

Besides a good range of products from a good range of makes and models, T&T music supplies also have a good delivery rate. All items have VAT and delivery clearly marked which I love as then you know what you are paying for straight away, without waiting to get to the checkout to find that delivery is a rip off as most companies do.

Anything I've had from them has arrived next day and perfectly as described with no problems at all.

For my other half's birthday this year I called them up to ask about a guitar I had heard him mention, being completely uneducated myself on what to look for in a good guitar, I spoke to one of the guys who was really helpful and knowledgeable. He checked stock and price etc on the guitar I mentioned and talked me through key things about it and made sure I was getting the one I was after. They weren't at all pushy for sales and were patient with me. I hate being harassed by sales people in shops or over the phone when you are just enquiring.

I got a great deal on the guitar and have since seen it in our local music shop for more. It was simple to place the order over the phone and each person I spoke to was really nice.

I have found T&T Music Supplies overall to be extremely helpful and easy to use. It's so much simpler buying packs of strings and other consumables online and having them for a decent price, rather than having to get to a shop each time something needs restringing etc.

The website is easy to navigate and hides nothing. All contact details and delivery rates etc are clear to see. The prices are very reasonable and should you want to call them just to confirm something or place an order over the phone all the staff seem very approachable and honest.

Overall I couldn't be more positive, it's been simple and hassle free every time I've used them including both on the phone and through the website. I'll happily keep using them for all the bits I buy often and happily recommend them to anyone who is fed up paying stupid prices for strings and things in shops. (They will also be the first people I contact if I take up the banjo, because they even stock stings etc for those too!)
