Advantages: Low prices, lots of choice
Disadvantages: No aftersales support
I visited the shop on 24th August after endless searching on the internet for the best price. We ordered the items we wanted in the store, my Mum paid for the goods, we ordered the Quinny Buzz, Maxicosi Car seat in a fab colour we hadn't seen anywhere else, a bag and the shopping basket for £370, which is actually £100 cheaper than anywhere else I could find.
At the time when they told me it would be between 4-6 weeks before delivery I was a little disappointed but as I had 12 weeks before my due date I wasn't really that bothered.
I was a little disappointed with the staff at the shop, we had to remind them about a 5% discount they were offering and they weren't exactly the brightest of people but never mind.
All was good, the money was taken from my Mums bank account and we were very promptly sent a confirmation email the next day saying delivery would be during week commencing 27th September, this was a Saturday so I didn't really understand that but I figured they would let us know nearer the time when it would be.
It wasn't until 29th Sept when alarm bells started to ring. My friend text me and asked me if I had dealt with TLF before. She had ordered a highchair online and nothing had arrived. I told her I was still waiting for my order. After her text I decided there would be no harm in chasing up my order to find out when it was due. This was when the frustration set in. I was kept on hold for absolutely ages and I spent 3 days attempting to call and call again and again. My husband tried the next day and the message had been changed to say that the aftersales department were moving and they were unable to take calls but that customers should email. With that I sent an email but I received nothing in response.
Now it was over a week after the estimated delivery date. I don't think I would have been bothered at all under normal circumstances but the fact you can't talk to anyone makes the whole situation really very frustrating.
I started looking at reviews and I started to worry even more. So I called the sales department - surprise, surprise I got through to someone. She explained she couldn't help, etc. I had a long chat with her and she agreed that I had waited a long time especially for a Quinny Buzz as they are normally in stock quicker, she said it is probably the MaxiCosi holding things up - she took my details and promised to get someone to respond within 24 hours.....Nothing.
I decided to send emails daily to chase the order. I did this for 2 days before reading that I should allow 3 days for responses to emails and that each additional email sent without waiting 3 days would result in further delays. This sounded like a cop out to me but I decided to be calm and follow instructions because I would have more chance of success in the event of a claim or court proceedings if I could say I followed instructions.
I spoke to a friend who has a 1 year old and when she was pregnant she ordered her cot, furniture, buggy, car seat and a feeding chair from two left feet, she told me she had a nightmare with them she said she had to chase and threaten to go into the shop before her items were delivered, she also then received her buggy and car seat in the wrong colour. But she did say to me don't worry, it will arrive but it might be a bit of a wait.
My other friend then contacted me to say her highchair had arrived, this gave me hope.
I sent one final email saying please could they reply and if I got no response I would visit the store, I received nothing. I had at that point agreed with my husband that we would visit the shop this weekend.
Then on Friday 10th October I received a despatch email saying the items would be delivered on 13th October and low and behold my goods were delivered as promised on 13th October.
The goods are just as we ordered and we are absolutely over the moon.
I don't know if my chasing had any effect but I am pleased to report I have received my goods and as a result would use Two Left Feet again.
I think the price we paid is amazing and I think if waiting a little while longer means we have saved £100 I am pleased with that.
My advice for using TLF is order well in advance, if you are short of time, don't bother. Keep on the ball and start chasing straight after your delivery date has lapsed.
I think it is disgusting that they do not actually offer an aftersales service, I can't believe a company can operate like that and would hate to be in a position where I needed to return something or get a refund. I live approx 45 mins drive from the shop so it is not too bad to go over there in the event of a problem but I think if I lived further away I may reconsider using them again just incase I had a problem and couldn't visit the store.
I don't know if I have been lucky but it would be nice to know how many people who have posted reviews on here have actually now received their goods.
Summary: Would use again
