Like most people these days, I have to watch the pennies and try to save money wherever I can. One thing that really bugs me about today's technology is the cost of printer ink. I once had a printer that cost me £42 every time one of the colour inks ran out because I had to replace the whole lot at once for it to work again. I simply coulnd't afford to use it! I subsequently looked round for a printer that was more suitable, but even then, the ink was still pricey. One day I was talking to a friend and the subject of the cost of ink arose and they told me about Valueshop.UK and said that they sold ink at a really reasonable price, so I gave them a look.

The home page of the website is very well laid out with a list of all the different departments down the left side. The shop doesn't just sell ink, it also sells paper, blank media, toner, ribbon cartridges, printers and fax machines. In fact, everything a busy office could need.

Naturally, all I was really interested in were the ink cartridges, so I clicked onto the link and was taken straight to that department. The first thing they asked you to do was search for your particular model of printer and once you enter the details you are whisked off to the relevant page. Here I found that I could also buy drivers, the actual printer and loads of different ink cartridges for that model. The prices of everything is clearly labelled and they have many special offers to choose from, which will save you money. What I liked was the fact that they sold compatible cartridges for my particular printer, at a fraction of the cost of the manufacturers ones. I decided to order some to see how good (or bad) they would be.

Ordering is very simple. All you do is select what you want and click buy. You are taken to your shopping basket where you can update your order if you need to. The rest of the procedure is very straightforward and if you want, you can register an account with them which saves your details for next time. I found it all very easy to use.

Once you have made your purchase you get a confirmation email and updates as to the progress of the order. Delivery is superfast and I have ordered one day and recieved the goods the next on occasion, though usually you do have about a 3 day wait. Goods are always well packaged and I have been really pleased with the service so far.

The best thing is that now I don't bankrupt myself every time I need to buy printer ink. A pack of 4 inks from the manufacturer would set me back about £33 but the compatible ones from Valueshop cost just over £10 for the 4 cartridges, plus a spare black one. For me that is excellent value for money, and the printing results are as good.

I would certainly recommend this lot if you are looking for all things to do with printers. They really do save you money!
