Advantages: Easy to use site, Quick Delivery, Account Option
Disadvantages: Have to add the free gifts they don't come automatically
One of my many duties at work is to order the stationary and my company orders this from Viking and has done for the last few years.
Viking stocks every essential that you would need to get on with day to day work such as note pads and post it notes to screen cleaners, keyboard wrist rests and also tea and coffee which is of course absolute essential (at least for me the caffeine addict!).
The website is very easy to use, you can search for what you need or if its a regular item you buy you can get the item number out of the catalogue they send you and it will automatically take you to the product instead of giving you a list of items which the main search will do.
If you have ordered from them before you can also order items you have in the past by reading through your order history, the site logs all transactions you have ever made and you can also make shopping lists of the products that you buy on a regular basis so they are easier to add to your basket.
The Viking site works on a more you buy the bigger discount you get basis so if you have the room to store the stock at your office or home you are better to do a few big orders per year rather than small orders every month.
Each item tells you how much it costs per quantity, for example one pack of Avery Quickpeel Laser Labels 38 X 99mm 14 Labels Per Sheet 100 Sheets Per Box would cost you £30.99 but if you order five or more the item cost goes down to £25.99 each.
As I am an account customer they also assign you an account manager who can give you more discount on items that you buy regularly, we recently needed to order some gel wrist pads and mouse mats that were £9.99 each on the site, my account manager discounted them to £7.25 each and this price is now saved on the website for me.
Viking offer free delivery over £30 which is easy to achieve for my company and if your doing big orders as I suggested won't be a problem.
The delivery comes next day too if ordered Monday - Thursday, I have always had the same delivery man too so I expect from this that Viking must treat its staff well.
I have had only one occasion where they sent me a wrong item, it wasn't something I had ordered but they let us keep it and refunded us too.
Viking also offer free gifts with most orders, currently you can get a box of St Kew shortbread biscuits for spending £100 or a free MP4 watch when you buy 30 packs of Viking Colour Paper, you just need to remember to add the item to your basket.
You can pay for each order by 30 days interest free account payments, card or via Paypal which could be good if you own an eBay business so regularly have funds in Paypal.
Viking is also on most cashback sites including TCB and Quidco and is also on Nectar for Business so you can get rewarded too for ordering.
I recommend Viking to any business small or large, loyalty is rewarded and the service is very quick.
Summary: All hail the Vikings!
