Earlier this year I took the bait of a very enticing offer for a case of wine at very reasonable cost. The process involved me in signing up to Virgin's Wine Bank option but that in itself adds to the attraction. You commit to adding £20 per month to your account and every to every £60 paid in they add £20. So far that has worked to my advantage and why should it not. They have a very nice selection of wines at prices that won't break the bank; you can choose a premixed case, usually offered at keen price level, or mix your own case(s) and still take advantage of self selecting bottles of your favoured wines. They are very good a dangling the carrot and ... Read the complete review

I admit it, I do like a glass of nice wine with a meal, but I do not know enough about it to make reasoned choices about specific wines (I recently bought a wine from a shop because I liked the label - I know that makes me a heathen, but luckily it was very good as well). Also, I do not detect 'crumbled fudge' or' sitting next to an open fire on Christmas eve' in a wine as some experts do. Either I like it or I don't. This is where Virgin Wines comes in. I have been a member for a few years, enticed by a cheap offer, but I also belong to other 'clubs'. I always buy a pre-chosen mixed case so that my wife and I get a good variety of ... We got a £40 voucher for Virgin Wines when we signed up to their Winebank through a purchase from Amazon (the voucher was in the book). I'm a member of the wine society and love a nice glass of wine so i thought this was the perfect opportunity to try a different company. You had to spend at least £80 in order to use the voucher which was fine with us as for £12 bottles of wine that's a pretty good deal! What we didn't realise at the time as it wasn't clear was that in signing up to WineBank we had committed to them taking £20 a month from our account which was then redeemable against our next purchase. When we read the details for wine bank it said you can cancel at ... Read the complete review

I signed up to virgin wines after receiving a voucher from amazon which gave me a forty pound discount. Which is all well and good, no? I don't know where virgin wines hide their small print (i've never managed to spot it). When you go to virginwines.com you are presented with many different options. You can have the discovery case, or pick another case. If you order the discovery case, virgin wines will continue to send you a discovery case every three months, whether you want it or not (although you can decline the case, or arrange to get it recollected after you're done) The problem with virgin wines is if you cancel a case well in ... Err don't you just hate Christmas shopping? Personally I perish the foot of braving the immense human traffic at this time of year in the city centre. That's why I've bought most of my presents online this year. You can get better discounts, better deals and it all comes to your door with little hassle. This year I wanted to get my dad a case of wine as he's drank a lot of it this year, but thankfully not in excess. There's nothing like getting your parents alcohol for Christmas but unfortunately a case of wine doesn't come cheap. However I had received an introductory voucher from Virgin Wines in a recent purchase. It offered me £20 ... Read the complete review
