Good quality wines and service (Virgin Wines)
Member Name: emmi2009
Advantages: Quick and easy to order online Disadvantages: Being tied into WineBank after initial purchase We got a £40 voucher for Virgin Wines when we signed up to their Winebank through a purchase from Amazon (the voucher was in the book). I'm a member of the wine society and love a nice glass of wine so i thought this was the perfect opportunity to try a different company. You had to spend at least £80 in order to use the voucher which was fine with us as for £12 bottles of wine that's a pretty good deal! What we didn't realise at the time as it wasn't clear was that in signing up to WineBank we had committed to them taking £20 a month from our account which was then redeemable against our next purchase. When we read the details for wine bank it said you can cancel at anytime so we immediately tried to cancel this as we didn't want to worry about the money coming from the account every month but it was then that we were told that we could only use the £40 voucher is we made another purchase so we decided to give it four months and buy another box of wine and then we cancelled our winebank. The two deliveries we had were very prompt and the wines we have tried so far have all been of a good standard. You can choose to make up your own box of wines or they have pre-boxed selections across different price ranges and good ideas for gifts too. I would recommend Virgin wines to others although i think it's best not to sign up to winebank unless you intend to use them on a regular basis. Summary: Reliable site for people with an interest in wine |
