Advantages: Offer a relatively good product
Disadvantages: Long delivery times, high price of delivery, potential for losing money
Vistaprint are a business card printing company but they also offer a wide range of office stationary products, from customised pens to calendars etc. If you have ever bought anything from amazon.co.uk you will probably have received a flyer from vistaprint detailing a free business card offer but is it entirely free?
If you log on to vistaprint you will soon find the option to print 250 free business cards. You can customise the text and choose from a number of preset designs. However, printed on the back is a message saying "Printed for free by Vistaprint" or something to that effect. You need to pay money to remove this. Full customisation options are available at cost.
Once you have made your card template it is time to complete the order and ask them to send you it. They direct you to a payment page where you will find out that postage will cost around £7! Now call me crazy, but I think that will easily cover the cost of printing your cards and postage, so they're not exactly free are they?
Another issue with vistaprint is they have been known to take money from people's cards without them knowing. If you are concerned about this please google "vistaprint scam" and you should find information relating to this.
Summary: Vistaprint don't really offer free business cards and their delivery costs/times are poor

- 14/07/09 I have never been scammed, as i said in my review "it has been known" a quick google will provide evidence of this.
Do you think £4 is acceptable for delivery of some business cards when it takes a number of days? I don't. I have used them a couple times and the delivery price is simply shocking actually, i know their products are cheap but why stick it all as "postage costs"? |

- 14/07/09 How many times have you used this service? Have you ever had money taken from your card by them? Not that I'm biased or anything but I've used this company for over 5 years now and have never had any problems, I've tried the different postage methods and even the cheapest postage option (about £4) has been delivered to me in less than a week. |
