Great up-and-coming site!

Advantages: Prices, easy layout
Disadvantages: Slow postage
I had not heard of Zavvi until a year ago, when their branches began to close with the onset of the recession, and they took their business online. Honestly I didn't really pay much attention to them as I assumed they were just another online retailer with average prices but nothing spectacular.
Oh, how wrong they have proved me in the last few months. Especially in the lead up to this Christmas, they have impressed me consistently with their deals, and I've no idea quite how they're able to sell what they do at such great prices, be it games, DVDs, music or beyond! I used to use Play.com mainly as they seemed to be the cheapest, but recently they have been undercutting Play.com regularly, making me a fan of Zavvi even if their postage isn't as speedy as it could be.
Much like Play.com, they have a simple layout that neatly stratifies everything on their website, making browisng very easy. They also, like Play, offer free delivery on EVERYTHING, which perhaps explains why sometimes it takes quite a while to get your item (a while meaning about 4-5 working days). However, for non-urgent items this isn't a problem, and given the absurdly cheap prices, I'm perfectly willing to wait. For instance, before Christmas, I bought The World at War 11-disc DVD series for my girlfriend for £17.95 from Zavvi while it was still £35 elsewhere. Play.com dropped it to the same price just this week, but Zavvi were obviously quicker on the uptake and got my business.
Zavvi have apparently done very well recently, and I hope that they continue to thrive as a business. I would like them to offer an alternate postage option, though, for urgent items.
Summary: Would be nice to get items faster but with these prices, who can complain?
