MS Windows Vista Business:
... Windows Vista is the successor to the Windows XP operating system and has been pre-installed and sold with millions of PCs and laptops. I ve been using Vista Business on my laptop simply because it came with it, but have also played around with the Home Premium and Ultimate flavours. Let me start by saying I hate it and it s no wonder they came out with Windows 7 so quickly since the Vista s launch. Wind... Read the full review: Hasta la VISTA, Baby! by Deru |

Ubuntu ... was generally comparable if not better than Windows on the older machines I tried. I should quantify that by saying it felt quicker than say Windows Vista perhaps not quicker than older Windows operating systems such as 98 or XP. So basically this brand new version of an operating system seems to work quicker than the latest Microsoft Operating Systems on older machines. On a brand new high specification machine with loads of memory the Windows Vista and 7 operating systems where comparable to Ubuntu. The bottom line then is if you have a new PC or laptop that has come with Windows preinstalled you may as well use it - Windows 7 in particular is a really good operati... MS Windows Vista Home Premium ... have used both XP, Vista and Windows 7. XP was a fairly good operating system, and at present is the standard for most homes and buisnesses. Vista is a resource hungry operating system, and there are no 2 ways about it. Doing nothing pushes RAM usage to about 30% or 40%, and CPU usage is never below 5%. Vista is a pretty, easy to use and reliable-ish system, but it is in no way efficient. There are many usefull features which make it better than XP, but there are countless annying ones aswell, such as the security warnings. I realise they have thier place and purpose, but mostly they are irritating. With the introduction of windows 7, you would be mad to buy this ope... MS Windows 7 Home Premium ... vista should have been. It is a faster, more efficient, smaller, easier to use, easier to learn, more reliable operating system than Vista, and runs on far older machines and even net books. Installing is easy, and it even keeps files and programs from Vista when upgrading. I have also been teaching a friend who has no previous experience with computers atall, and windows 7 makes it so easy. Regular use programs can be put on the quick launch bar, which is now fully integrated into the task bar. To full screen windows, just drag them to the top of the screen. For a half screen view, drag to one of the sides. To view just that window, shake the window you want to se... Read the full review: Vista has been rebuilt, and now everything works! by Splooshiba |
