... vista should have been. It is a faster, more efficient, smaller, easier to use, easier to learn, more reliable operating system than Vista, and runs on far older machines and even net books. Installing is easy, and it even keeps files and programs from Vista when upgrading. MS Windows 7 Ultimate ... 7 is what vista should always have been. If you are upgrading from vista, the visual changes will not be stunning. The wallpaper now changes between a few, menus and the task bar have been made prettyer and slightly easier to use. Windows 7 is so much more efficient and fast than vista was, and is competition for XP. Its extra features are extremely useful, especially for those on laptops using track pads, all the menus and links reduce the number of clicks needed to perform any task. I am currently running it on an eee pc. A netbook, which vista would not have a chance of running on. Windows 7 runs smoothly, with very very few errors or freezes. It also seems ... MS Windows 7 Professional ... Although I work, I m a part time student too so that qualified me for the Microsoft Utlimate Steal and Windows 7 came up via this a few days before its launch and I bought it for £39. Bargain. As instructed I ran the update advisor (a short program you download from the microsoft website) and it advised me that a 32 bit version was better than a 64 bit, but I had to increase by RAM as Windows 7 32 bit needs 1GB of free RAM and I didn t have that (read Crucial review tro see how that was remedied. (The 64 bit version need 2GB of free RAM). Most importantly the upgrade advisor advised me that my version of Windows could be upgraded whereas the 64 bit version ... MS Windows 7 Home Premium ... 7 makes Windows Vista feel like a beta. That s my philosophy. It was my philosophy before I bought Windows 7 and it s still my philosophy now. That s where the "it looks like Vista" comments come from. Windows 7 is Vista without all the rubbish. Everything people moaned about in vista is gone (or improved) and 7 is more spangly and all singing and dancing. It looks better, runs more smoothly and is simple to use. You might even say its been dumbed down for the masses. Simplified. It s a pleasure to use. It loads more quickly than Vista and is aesthetically pleasing as it does so.
