Windows vista? Well, it was short and oh not so sweet! XP was my introduction to home computers and after using 98 and 2000 in work, XP was refreshing and enjoyable. Not so with Vista - been quite short lived and I think it should never have been released in the first place. It is slow and clumsy and although in ... Read the complete review

I have used both XP, Vista and Windows 7. XP was a fairly good operating system, and at present is the standard for most homes and buisnesses. Vista is a resource hungry operating system, and there are no 2 ways about it. Doing nothing pushes RAM usage to about 30% or 40%, and CPU usage is never below 5%. Vista is a pretty, easy to use ... 3 stars. A good rating from me as you know. Let's have a look: Windows 7 has breached and Windows XP is still THE single most popular operating system in existance. So what happened to the little section in the middle, the system we call 'Vista?' I personally like Vista, it's pretty and lively with lots of nice little ... Read the complete review

"We uninstall Vista" a sign showed in a shop window. Ever since it was released, Windows Vista has got negative reviews, with people, disliking it so much they want to revert back to XP. I can't claim to know a great deal about computers and operating systems, but I can compare Windows XP to Windows Vista from a novice's point of view. ... Read the complete review

Having had Vista home premium on my laptop (had no choice in the OS); I have experienced firsthand how it works. Yes it's all very good seeing the smart blue layout and the windows logo as the start menu button. Although under the hood, has anything really changed? I am sure you have heard the stories about Vista crashing etc. but have never ... Read the complete review

I got vista preinstalled on a laptop I purchased. It was the home premium guise of vista with a few more features. Firstly it looks very different to xp and can take a bit of getting used to if you have been using older versions of windows for a long time. The main points of vista is that it's supposed to be easier to use and more ... Read the complete review

I think i'll start this review by compare Vista to it's predecessor XP. To start with the most notable difference in vista is the beautiful visuals, which can put most mac's to shame. These enhanced visuals transform your pc moniter into a work of art. Whereas with XP you will soon become bored of the monotonous greys that appear so frequently. ... Read the complete review

Vista has been given a lot of bad reviews and when mentioning vista many people will immediately quote the initial reviews on its release, the annoying too-tight and interfering security messages for one. This has been much improved and the premium version gives the home computer much more features than the standard package. It may be initially ... Read the complete review

I had heard alot of bad press about vista. When i started using it i hated it and wanted to go back to XP but i thought i will stick with it for a while and see how i got on. Once i got use to the features and where everything was and turned of the annoying pop ups that always appear everytime you try and install and unstall programs ect i ... Read the complete review

Windows Vista in general has got a lot of bad press and I think that people forget the problems with XP and the time it took to sort them out, within a year SP1 for Vista came out and XP released its last SP(3) at the same time and now a year on SP2 for Vista is set to come out so not too bad really. I used to like Vista when it came on ... Read the complete review

Microsoft Windows Home Premium version is a great operating system for home users who require more advanced features than are available in the basic version of the software. It offers a great mix of features and is more cost effective than the Ultimate edition of Vista-making it, in my opinion, the best desktop Operating System available ... Read the complete review

Ease of Use - The Menu's are much easier to navigate through than in the XP version of Windows, and for those who hate change, the menu's can be switched back to XP format at the click of a mouse. Visually - The views are widely customisable, with the ability to make windows see through and easily switch between open programs is ... Read the complete review

Window Vista Home Premium in my opinion is one of the best version out for Vista, made by Microsoft. I think it beats all the other version (Home Basic, Business & Ultimate). It's basically in my eyes the standard Operating System (OS) any home user will need; even if you're not a computer wiz! Now, I know a lot of people including friends ... Read the complete review

I put off upgrading to Windows Vista for some time, due to the horror stories I had heard after its launch, but I finally bit the bullet and decided to upgrade for my new system. I went for the 64-bit version, as I would be using 6GB of RAM (the 32 bit version only recognizes up to 3.5GB), and had heard many stories about unsigned ... Read the complete review

I have now seen, and read, many of the reviews and I still cannot believe how many people regard this software in anyway good. Let me start from the beginning. When Microsoft decided to release this software they decided, for God only knows what reason, too aim it at the home user and try and cirumnavigate the people who would need to develop ... Before I buy anything to do with my computer, I always read reviews about the product, and when I read reviews about Vista, it was a mixture of both bad and good, so based on the good, I upgraded from XP. The successor to Windows Vista (currently imaginatively named 'Windows 7') has now been released in 'Beta' form, and will be on general sale within 12 months, so I thought it would be a good idea to review Windows Vista now before it's superseded! I say superseded, but if the succession of Windows XP by Vista is anything to go by, ... Read the complete review

Windows Vista was onr of the most ill-recieved systems ever, with criticisms coming from left right and centre, both from critics and users. But then in today's world, little that is new is ever well-recieved and as this is one of the most used pieces of software around, i think that getting it right should be a main priority. I have been running Vista on my Vaio for a couple of years now, and whilst some people still absoloutely adore XP and refuse to change from it, I personally think Vista is far superior! Poor old Windows Vista - it's the fat kid in the playground everybody bullies, and not even it's parents like it. It has been critisized since before it was released, and Microsoft has been rushing to release the next version Windows ever since - using Windows XP to try and bridge the gap. Why does everybody hate Vista? Well there are ... Read the complete review
