Windows Vista is well, a Microsoft product, that means you've got a guarantee on most cases of it wont work well or at all. However I found Home Premium to be quite good, I only have 1GB of RAM and my laptop can be quite sluggish at times so personally I'd recommend at least 2GB but apart from that it works nicely.
