The latest PC operating from Microsoft is Windows 7. called this as it's the seventh version of the firm's market leading operating system. I've now been running the home premium version for over a week so I'm going to summarise my experiences so far avoiding any technical jargon.

It's the follow up to Vista, which was in all terms a disaster mostly due to loads of incompatible issues and generally overall bugs. Windows 7 was hurried along to solve this issue before the public lost faith in the operating system all together. I think they have succeed with regards to this, the software seems to be far more stable than Vista ever was & runs well without any noticeable issues experienced so far.

Originally I noticed when I first installed it, it actually ran slower than Vista. However now it has had time to bed in, it definetly rans noticeably faster. Visually there aren't a huge amount of changes as I think the majority of work has gone into improving things behind the scenes.

One of my favourite features are the improvements to the taskbar, almost giving it a Mac like feel. You can hoover over open programs & you get a preview of the relevent window which is actually surprisingly useful. Also you can get a 3D view of open windows using the Aero feature.

I would say Windows 7 defiently fixes the issues experienced with Vista and is a worthwhile upgrade, home & personal users will find all they need in the home premium edition of the software.
