Advantages: Much more functionality, faster, better features
Disadvantages: Not availible in shops yet
I have been using Windows 7 since before the beta was made available to the public. And over the past couple of months, I've had no problems whatsoever. It runs faster and better than vista, which I had used previously, since I got my laptop.
The new interface is much improved since XP and Vista, with the new taskbar acting more like a dock, which you can put your favourite applications on to run whenever you want. The new 'Action Centre' is also very helpful, it notifies you when something is wrong with the system and provides solutions to fix them. For example if your virus definitions are out of date, it will tell you to update them to secure your system.
The new usability features are also really helpful, you can drag a window up to the top of the screen to maximise them, and to the left or tight of the screen to fill up that side of the screen. This feature is helpful if you want to run and see two applications at the same time. Also the 'Aero Peek' button on the bottom right of the screen is also very helpful, if you click it, it minimises everything and you will be at the desktop. Also, if you hover over it, you will be able to see the desktop behind your applications, which go transparent.
Overall Windows 7 is a very well made operatings system, much improved from Vista and I would highly recommend it.
Summary: Much improved operating system, would recommend to anybody

- 21/06/09 soz for the low rating, but you haven't really said what it's like - I'd love to know more - like what's different from xp and vista and what's the same etc. |
