What vista should have been. It is a faster, more efficient, smaller, easier to use, easier to learn, more reliable operating system than Vista, and runs on far older machines and even net books. Installing is easy, and it even keeps files and programs from Vista when upgrading. I have also been teaching a friend who has no previous ... Read the complete review

Windows 7 makes Windows Vista feel like a beta. That's my philosophy. It was my philosophy before I bought Windows 7 and it's still my philosophy now. That's where the "it looks like Vista" comments come from. Windows 7 is Vista without all the rubbish. Everything people moaned about in vista is gone (or improved) and 7 is more spangly ... Windows 7 has been said by Microsoft as being much improved and everyone would be happy with the end result. But is it really better, below is my review of a few sections which I believe is most important and compare it to older versions. Speed: 9/10 Much faster than Vista. To compare with the Vista OS, on Vista it took around 30 ... Read the complete review

The latest PC operating from Microsoft is Windows 7. called this as it's the seventh version of the firm's market leading operating system. I've now been running the home premium version for over a week so I'm going to summarise my experiences so far avoiding any technical jargon. It's the follow up to Vista, which was in all terms a ... In July, I downloaded the Release Candidate of Windows 7 to evaluate the new operating system and I have to say it's the best version of Windows yet! It surpasses Vista in every way. Windows 7 is not available yet but I'm encouraging all Vista uers to upgrade in October as soon as the software is released. In the rest of my review I will outline ... Read the complete review

Windows 7 is far better than Vista in almost all respects but be aware that it is difficult so set up if you want to use in on network with other computers in your household. If they are all running Windows 7 then there is no problem but what you can NOT do any longer is have what W7 calls a "homegroup" with a mix of operating systems if ... Read the complete review

A few months ago I put togther a new Athlon dual core PC with 2GB of ram. At the time I didn't have an OS, Microsoft was rolling out the release candidate version of Windows 7 so I decided to try it out on my new system. Overall compared to Windows XP, 7 is more graphics orientated and sleek, the system seems to run fast however 2GB of ram doesn't ... Read the complete review

Windows 7 is the eagerly awaited new operating system by Microsoft that aims to take computing to the next level. There has been less improvements made than the change from Windows XP to Vista however, it is clear that there has been a big emphasis put on ease of use and performance etc. Everything within theh operating system is just geared ... I had to try this as a recent Windows to Mac convert. It's better than Vista, and possibly XP as well... but it's still not great. It's faster, but it's not fast. I also wonder where they get the 7 from. My experience: Windows 3.11, 95 (4), 98 (5), ME (6), XP (7!!), Vista (8), 7????? very strange. They also don't allow for the two ... Read the complete review

I have been using Windows 7 since before the beta was made available to the public. And over the past couple of months, I've had no problems whatsoever. It runs faster and better than vista, which I had used previously, since I got my laptop. The new interface is much improved since XP and Vista, with the new taskbar acting more like a ... Windows 7 -Build 7100 -32 bit version - Release Candidate Having tried the Beta versions of windows 7 in both 32 and 64 bit modes, it was nice to be able to download something that has had some bugs fixed and has continued to work for me without any major problems. I was planning on reinstalling Vista as I seem to install a lot of stuff, and then when I don't need it anymore I leave it clogging my hard drive. Then I found out that Windows 7 was available free so I thought it was time to upgrade to 64bit too. The evaluation copy lasts untill March, and by that time Vista will be out dated ... Microsoft has been pulling out a lot of commercials lately to try and make Windows look 'cool'. There is no doubt that they are trying to directly compete with Apple, who have started to slowly eat away at the percentage of computer users who use Windows. Microsoft hoped that Vista was going to be the next best thing, but alas people were not ... Read the complete review

I downloaded the windows 7 beta (I am writing this review with build 7000 installed) at the beginning of the year to replace the many bugs with vista. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the operating system. The new taskbar increases ease of switching between windows by a long way. The new time savers, such as snapping windows to sides ... Read the complete review
