      Disadvantages

a solid O.S, Make sure before you buy that your able to use this software

Solaris is a sun Microsystems operating system.
Its mainly aimed at users who are interested in software (patricianly java) design.
Solaris is a fully functioning O.S, but may have some compatibility problems with various software.
If you do buy solaris you will find the security is of a high and hassle free standard.
The system crashes you may experience on Microsoft windows are nearly non-existent.
You will find a number of software packages included (zip) on the CD, these are open source programs (License free). Don’t be put off by thinking, as you don’t have to pay for software, it must be of low quality! You will be wrong in thinking this….there are programmers out here who like sharing their work with others for non-profit. This is a program, along with various other operating systems, that will open the world of free quality software up to you.
The networking facilities are second to none, sun Microsystems are worldwide known for their servers and software, including java development.
This software package may be better for the office, developers or even those who would just like to try something different. Check the software release though, as I think solaris 10 is on the market?
