Ubuntu 6.06 LTS:
... recently set up my computer to dual boot between XP and Ubuntu. I had used Windows since I had a computer and was interested to see what the fuss from the linux brigade was about. I was initially confused (as I think most windows users are) by the seemingly odd way of doing things but it wasn t long before I was getting used to it. One thing that was a problem was that I don t (or didn t then) have an internet con... Read the full review: A free OS but with Drawbacks by Trengot |

Microsoft Windows XP - Professional Edition ... used previous versions of windows such as 95, 98 and 2000 it was a refreshing experience to use windows xp due to the big change in the user interface & graphics. I found previous windows quite unstable - always frustratingly crashing when you needed it to be most reliable. 2000 was probably the most stable version I had used and that was due to it being based on nt similar to the new xp. I liked the user account system and ease of navigation as well as the simplicity of using the admin tools. The auto update feature is useful to keep ahead of security issues which is always a problem with microsoft. Although after certain updates I did find certain peripheral... Microsoft Windows XP - Professional Edition ... d think that a 7 year old operating system would not be popular today, but in the case of Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition you d be wrong - according to the latest global figures from StatCounter - http://gs.statcounter.com/#os-ww-daily-20080701-20090811-bar - nearly 73% of people still use Microsoft Windows XP today! * Pros * Well in comparison to its successor, Windows Vista, it requires a smaller amount of memory and hard drive space to install and run it on your computer, it doesn t need a super fast processor (it can run on a PC with an ancient 233MHz CPU), and in terms of software compatability, the majority of programs out there work with Windows XP.... Microsoft Windows XP - Professional Edition ... ve used Windows XP since forever and even though I have a Vista laptop I prefer to use XP over Vista any day. XP pro is probably the best XP OS generally because it has pretty much all of the features XP can have bar Windows Media Centre. I like XP because it is most like the original 95 layout and is not much different from previous releases; this is probably why XP is still the most popular OS amongst businesses. Actually XP is still the most used OS by far even over Vista, which makes sense with the trouble there was with Vista to start with and now they ve fixed these problems it s a bit late in the day to be ordering up Vista when Windows 7 comes out in 3mths tim...
