Ubuntu can be installed with a huge range of languages: from African to even Zulu. The users even have the right to adjust the softwar...

fionaciren Ubuntu 8.04 LTS
... have recently installed Ubuntu 8.04 on my old laptop, which only has 128mb. Installing was extremely easy and took around 50 minutes. It also operates approx. 3 times faster than Windows. It recognised all my hardware and installed the drivers without any problem, even my wireless network card. The main display is very simple. On the top bar, the drop down menus are Applications, Places, System. There are also 3 icons for Firefox (Internet Browser), Evolution Mail and Help. It is very easy to add new applications to the bar. Under the Application Menu, you have the following options; Accessories (Which includes a calculator) : Games (There is a good selection) ...

rahulchowdhury Ubuntu 8.04 LTS
... a wide variety of free softwares for various uses. Nero has even developed a Linux Version of their burning software for use with Ubuntu. Web Browsers such as Mozilla Firefox and Opera can be used with Ubuntu, and it provides a safer web experience than Windows. Ubuntu also features the Flip-3D features, in which upto six desktops can be interchanged from one cube by a single wave of the mouse. This version of Ubuntu will receive updates till 2011 i.e, for three years without any interruption. Ubuntu is about to break into the market and you should get a copy of this free Operating System too. I use this too and I feel really great using it. Get your hands in it!...

Lately however I have had to learn some Linux skills as we ve rolled out VMware ESX server (based on debian OS) as well as rolling out Nagios which is a linux application used to monitor Windows or Linux servers. I decided to use Ubuntu server edition to install Nagios and used the latest 8.04 OS. Needing to learn some linux quickly I also installed the desktop environment locally on both my work pc and my home laptop and I must say that I have hardly looked back since. Admit ably I have install...
