Advantages: Stable, Beautifull, Its Apple with Unix

Disadvantages: Does not work with all machines, Ram Hungry, Hard disk hungry

Apple has once again revolutionised the way computers behave, feel and look with their new operating system OS X (ten). This OS unlikeprevious versions of the OS is based on three separate layers within the core OS. These are Darwin, Aqua, and Cocoa. By integrating all these, Apple has managed to creat a brand new and interesting way to work with computers. The aqua part of th OS deals with the new appearance including things such as Huge high res icons and "The Dock". It is also responsible for the way all the folders look and interact with the user.
Darwin and Cocoa are the parts of the OS which do all the processing and things like that.
Because Mac OS X is based on a Unix core it is extremely stable and if the Finder were to crash it would not take the whole system with it. However early versions of the OS were not that stable and were prone to crashes, sometimes serious ones. But then what do you expect from a partial build?
Any way, OS X is here now in all its glory and will truly become the best operating system when all the most popular applications are optimized to work perfectly on it.

If you buy a new Apple computer, it comes with OS X already installed but if you want to install it on another computer that you may already have then it will cost you about £80 for OS X (which also comes with OS 9.1).
I seriously dont recomend you install this on anything worse than a pretty good iMac as the OS needs plenty of Ram and processing power.
It will work on computers as far back as the second generation iMacs and will work well on a powerfull G3 processor or work perfectly on a G4. Unfortunatly, upgrade cards are not yet supported so if you have one you will not be able to use Mac OS X.

This operating system is worth getting for many reasons, the best one being is that it looks a lot nicer than the ones before. Especially on the 22 inch studio display :)

If you have the necessary specifications and
the cash then i recommend buying it.
