Premium Review Mac OS X Leopard (900 words)

I'm new to the world of Apple Mac, well sort of. I did use an Apple II when I was at primary school! Since those days I've been aware of Mac OS and the loyal fanbase it has based over the years on its stunning graphics. Fed up with Windows lack of speed, and weaknesses where viruses are concerned I decided it was time to stop buying ...  Read the complete review

I haven't been able to find a review on here for Mac OSX Tiger, so here's my little bit, well its quite long actually. I've been using my first mac for almost 6 months now, so I've got used to the operating system now at first it was a bit daunting, from using windows pc's for years, and knowing my way around it pretty well. I ...  Read the complete review

I am runing a mac mini duo core Osx 10.4.7 with windows under boot camp and also window under parallel the mac os is really great and window does very well under parallel and under bootcamp does better than my del xps. You have to see mac mini handle both windows and osx at the same time. See if any del can do that. I am a old windows user.

Premium Review Aqua Baby (528 words)
by - written on 30/01/03 (Very useful, 1052 readings)
Rating:

I should start off by saying that I am a Mac fan. (Although having been to the Expo at Islington, I should probably downgrade that to 'keen', rather than fan - it was something akin to being at a Star Trek convention, I should imagine, never having been to one - really - promise!) And I had been a little timid about upgrading from ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Mac OS X: Keeping things simple (1219 words)
by - written on 18/07/02 (Very useful, 311 readings)
Rating:

I don't consider myself a computer nerd at all. I used to think I was once. I was proud of it too, the idea that I could control the world from my own home computer. My first computer was a Apple Performa. A great machine that I owned for many years. I remember hom excited I got whenever I heard of a new system update. For the most part ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review OS Sex! (326 words)
by - written on 16/07/02 (Useful, 1044 readings)
Rating:

Just get this now and put it on your Mac! You'll think you have a new machine. No, it doesn't actually revolutionise the way you use your Mac but it makes it a hell of a lot more beautiful to look at as well as giving you a lot more functionality compared to previous Mac OS's. Everything is simple and intuitive to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Mac OS X: Pretty it is, quality it ain't (554 words)

I'm a Unix sysadmin, so when the Powers That Be told me that two G4s were turning up and I have to support them, I turned a whiter shade of pale. When they did arrive, however, installing them was an absolute breeze and after playing with the almost infeasibly pretty GUI, to my initial delight I found a small icon marked "Terminal". ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Mac OS X A Vaiable Operating System? (154 words)
by - written on 12/01/02 (Somewhat useful, 287 readings)
Rating:

This is the latest operating system for the apple macintosh format. It is a brave new atempt by apple to make an operating system friendly to the newbie. However from this respective it fails quite misserably. The menues are hard to navigate and it is hard to find programs with the lack of a proper start menu equivelent and it does not do anything ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Mac OS X: OS X, better than life!!! : ) (227 words)
by - written on 26/11/01 (Useful, 144 readings)
Rating:

Mac OS X is a great way to show Microsoft it won't be mimicked again! With the UNIX/Free BDS core and the simple, graphical design interface, no wonder Mac OS X kicks butt! Microsoft will try to imitate looks with XP and already has, but Microsoft can never imitate stability. You hear Mr. William Gates III saying how stable Windows is, but it ...  Read the complete review

I had to write about it eventually. I couldn't not write about something this important. Many people are saying it's the most important thing to happen to the Macintosh platform since PPC chips were installed. I'd say that's probably true. We've all been waiting with baited breath to stop the sniggers and for Apple to create ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Mac OS X - Is it worth it? (253 words)
by - written on 28/10/01 (Somewhat useful, 151 readings)
Rating:

I was a little disappointed with Mac OS X. It does have a very nice feel to it and everything follows through smoothly, if you know what I mean, it's got a good atmosphere to it. Although this is great I did find it seemed a lot more complicated to use than earlier Mac OS versions like 8.6 and 9.1. Of course it would take a little getting used ...  Read the complete review

Apple has once again revolutionised the way computers behave, feel and look with their new operating system OS X (ten). This OS unlikeprevious versions of the OS is based on three separate layers within the core OS. These are Darwin, Aqua, and Cocoa. By integrating all these, Apple has managed to creat a brand new and interesting way to work ...  Read the complete review

Having head both good and bad reviews if OSX i was dubious about installing it on my new G4. Now i find it hard to do without. OS X is a complete rewrite of the mac system, and the first thing you notice is the interface. It's very strange at first to anyone who has ever used previous versions of the Mac OS- It's all very 3D ...  Read the complete review

I have just recived the new Apple ibook 2001 and shipped with it was OSX. The Mac OS. Far superior to anythiing that currently resides on a Wintel PC machine. Easier to use, easier to look at and moe user friendly. Enter Mac OS X (or 'ten' as it's more commonly known). In the heated anticipation of this totally new OS, no-one could get enough of the pre-release pictures and reviews. To say this was ...  Read the complete review
