Windows 2000 Professional, what can I say??it?s the best

No doubt most people will have forgotten about windows 2000 and are now looking at XP but I do not feel that 2000 is quite ready for the scrap heap yet.

True there were problems after its release ? games tended not to run on it because they were designed for the 9x kernel. It is a very different story now, everything you will find works on 2000, and most hardware providers have 2000 driver updates, compatibility is no longer a problem.

Anyone interested in windows will know that XP is simply 2000 with a new face and minor kernel changes. Unfortunately these minor changes have made XP the slightly less reliable operating system, it WILL crash where 2000 doesn?t. Admittedly XP does have a few new features, but nothing that isn?t already available through third party software.

I would recommend windows 2000 pro to anyone, from the novice to the computer professional. I fully believe that it is the only good operating system that Microsoft ever produced, and I can see already that XP is going to be another 9x.

Not only is 2000 more stable and better made, it is also still supported by Microsoft, so they are still improving it even today ? service pack three came out recently.

Hmmm. You don't convince me. This same debate occurred in 1995, when there were w whole loada 'puter-nuts' bad-mouthing Win 95 and trying to convince me to opt for the last version of Win 3.1. Oh Boy, were they wrong !!!!

My XP system bought this year witha Dell cashes occasionally, but not as often as my 1995 DAN with Win 95. You just have to get in the habit of saving files, not keeping too many files open, and closing down the whole sytem at least every 2 days to 'refesh' it.
