Advantages: Stability, ease of use, wide software support, great GUI
Disadvantages: Very pricey,
I have been using Microsoft products for years and putting up with all their bloated faults. I put up with win 9x even thought it kept crashing as there isn't really a viable alternative in terms of software support and ease of use. However with win2000 Microsoft have finally got things right, to call this the bee's knees is an understatement, it really does kick ass. I have been using it for over two months and not one programmme has crashed which really is incredible considering this was the one distiguishing feature of all Microsft products. The networking and software features are also excellent, the range of software available is unrivalled. The software on offer is the one thing that will always keep Win NT ahead of linux in the corporate market. Microsoft were under pressure from big corporations to improve stabiliy for NT due to some switching to Linux. Improved security is another big plus which should keep those resentful linux-heads out for a while. You do have to pay a big premium for this priviledge but this isn't really a product intended for home users.
