Windows 2000 Professional, what can I say??it?s the best No doubt most people will have forgotten about windows 2000 and are now looking at XP but I do not feel that 2000 is quite ready for the scrap heap yet. True there were problems after its release ? games tended not to run on it because they were designed for the 9x kernel. ... Read the complete review

This OS is a bogus! It´s not stable as an unix system, and don´t have advanced settings for configuration of the users. The parental advisor in the internet explorer fails, cause it does not select the administrator´s banned sites list in the restricted users options (and you cannot change it in the restricted user mode too). The DOS ... Read the complete review

Windows 2000 Professional is the Windows operating system for business desktop and laptop systems. It is used to run software applications, connect to Internet and intranet sites, and access files, printers, and network resources. Built on Windows NT® technology and the easy-to-use, familiar Windows® 98 user interface, Windows 2000 ... Read the complete review

Microsoft Windows 2000 has been advertised as the best and easiest Windows version ever. Best it is, but easiest its not. I have been using Windows 2000 for about a year now (since it was in beta) and have found it extremely stable. It has rarely ever crashed on me and even when it has, the fault was of some third party application. Most ... Read the complete review

Almost all computer users know what Windows is: the "thing that runs my computer". Well to be more exact, it is called the operating system. This version is made for home-users that are not into server configs, Windows 2000 Server is for that, and it is also for business use. Microsoft gives you two ways of installing Windows ... I guess by now everyone has seen the oh-so-witty play on Microsoft products/slogans that are doing the rounds in the web. Things such as Micro$oft and Windoze etc have never been particularly funny, but are they justified? Are the products actually overpriced, sluggish bloatware? Well, judging by Windows 2000 the answer is a resounding ... Read the complete review

Where to start eh? I have to admit I've been a sheep that's followed Microsoft's every move for years now. As well as having Windows 2000 now I've also fiddled with DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98 and 98SE, Windows ME and Windows NT 4.0 a little. And as far as I'm concerned my favourite has got to be Windows 2000. ... Read the complete review

In my opinion this is the best offering from MS so far, I have run w95, w98, w98se, wme, and now w2000. It is by far better than all the previous operating systems. (If you’re not a games Player) With all of the other OS I have had problems one way or another, but with w2000 my system has never been so stable. Everything is more ... Read the complete review

Windows 2000 Professional is an excellent operating system. I have been running it on my laptop for half a year now and since then it has never even crashed which i have been surprised with. It is a very stable operating system, too bad Windows Me is'nt. But with Windows XP soon to be released, i would rather wait until October 2001 for ... Read the complete review

Hi! At first I decided to install Windows 2000 Professional as the second operating system in a dual boot machine. The first operating system was Windows 98 which I had used for at least two years without much fault I might add. I found Windows 98 to be very reliable over the years, although I did experience the dreaded BSOD or ... Read the complete review

When Microsoft launched Windows 2000, I thought it was just another bloatware with a few extra frills. It wasn’t long until I actually started using a registered version my brother got me from the Promised Land, was I proved wrong. Working in the IT industry myself I like to keep my finger on the pulse of emerging OS’s and new technological advances, and win2k was no exception. Me being the young hasty idiot that I am, ripped open the plastic wrapping shoved the CD in the drive and let it go. Now, normal clever people would take some time look at the Internet or other people's recommendations, it was definitely a case of "It's new it should be better therefore what can go wrong?" WINDOWS 2000 professional Overall, Windows 2000 is better than the rest, but doesnt really justify an upgrade from windows 98. Too little work has been done on it, and I was expecting a revolutionary windows OS, instead we get a slightly 'neater' version of windows 98. I personally think they should have done much, much more work ... Read the complete review

I have been using Microsoft's operating systems ever since I first got a computer, about 10 years ago. Windows 2000 is an excellent operating system. It combines the strengths of Windows 98 and the strengths of Windows NT to create the ultimate Microsoft operating system. I have recently upgraded my home LAN to Windows 2000,after having used it in the office in a test environment for almost 18 months. There is a common misconception about this operating system which many people are still falling into the trap of months after its release. Win2k is the upgrade to Windows NT 4, not Win98! In fact, until Microsoft had a brain storm and decided to change its name it was due to be released under the uninspired name of Windows NT 5. However, in saying ... Read the complete review
