The first OS I get aquainted with is windows 98 SE.Like its predecessor windows 95 it is also a MS-DOS based operating system.But windows 98 is the first operating system to use the windows Driver model.98 Se is the updated version of windows 98 which came with some bug fixes and more reliable networking features.
As I am supposed to write my experiences with this operating system as a beginner then I wasn't quite good in determining the speed graphics, reliability and also the causes of crashes in the machines.So at that time it was preety good to me.As about its other important features which were really good in running the system bug and error free were Scan Disk,Disk Defragmentor and MS configuration.The main function of this Scan Disk system utility is to maintain the file system.It had that DOS and GUI version.Now the Disk Defragmentor had the same function that it has in Xp to rearrange the files and allowing the system for fatser Booting time.MS confi was used to move out all those programs that were not required to run on the computer.while it has the networking speed upto holding the 256kbps maximum as i knew then the internet speed were not that fast as they are now.Like the XP it had another same feature called Regedit to edit the registry entries to the system.out of the 2 versions that i had used then windows 98 ME &SE for me its always been the SE holded the keys to speed processing and faster browsing.
