Advantages: Great tools

Disadvantages: None

For me this one of the most reliable and stable versions of Microsoft Windows. It was released in June 98 and the operating system before this was Windows 95. The operating which came after Windows 98 was Windows Me which had quite a few bugs when it was first released.

Windows 98 came with useful tools which I know I used many times to get me out of trouble e.g. Disk Defragmenter and Msconfig which I used to speed up my system up and disable programs and services in Windows 98.

The owner of Microsoft is Bill Gates and has made billions from these operating systems. Windows 98 allowed users to install and run many different types of software, games and many other things.

Only 16 megabytes of RAM (Random Access Memory) was required to run this beautiful piece of software and only 210 megabytes of hard disk space for an upgrade from Windows 95.

The Windows operating system comes which security features allowing users to log in using usernames and password and each individual account will allow individual settings e.g. your own wallpapers for your desktop and various displays and layouts of certain folders.

Users also have a control panel which allows users to configure their PC settings, display, printer, programs and many more. this is a useful tool especially for sorting out driver issues and unistalling uneccessary programs.

Overall I rate this as one of the best O/S out there.

Summary: Great operating system and runs most of my programs which don't run on Vista!

It all depends what you try to do with it. A few blue screens but this is a problem with most Windows operating systems.

I've seen too many blue screens from it to think of it as the most reliable but it certainly was quite speedy.

You do wonder why they don't give it away for free. It must be because they are making a bomb off companies.
