The title of this article are normally the words leaving my mouth (expletives edited out) at least 5 times a night whilst using my computer with Windows 98. It is rubbish. In terms of features yes it is a pretty good operating system, but in terms of its stability, it is disgraceful that a company can get away with releasing such an unstable product. If a small company had released such an unstable piece of software, they would have been hounded by all until put out of business, but not with Microsoft. Its as if since we used our first PC using Windows 3.0 or 3.1 or even earlier, Microsoft has been slowly using the radiation from our monitors to warp our minds, and every couple of years go into town, part with 80 quid and ask for another new copy of a Microsoft operating system. The problem is in the OS market is that there is no competition for Microsoft. We have Unix and Linux. Linux is gaining more and more credibility particularly with servers, but driver support is the problem. Overall due to its pitiful stability Summary: |
