Advantages: Is supported by everything, System utilities are essential

Disadvantages: Kernel 32 errors! Stability

Kernel 32 error........ this is the error that constantly happens to me especially when I am using the latest Internet explorer. I used to run Win95, then I upgraded to 98, and the to SE edition.

I have to admit even though the stability is not very good, you do get some excellent system utilities in SE. My favourite 2 are System File Checker, this checks the integrity of the main system files. If one is found to be corrupt, it will prompt you for the CD to replace the file. I also *love* scanreg, with this you can restore your computer to how it was like yesterday, if you even get into trouble, though this isn't 100% it can save you from an awful lot of hassle.

In summary I would reccommend Win98Se for the time being, hopefully Millenium Edition should be a lot better though.

Win 2000, is just an enhanced version of NT, and as such isn't much good for gamesplayers, unless you enjoy hacking the registry everytime you want to play a game!
