Seems I'm not as impressed by this as some of the other reviewers. Unfortunately, it was installed in our brand new computer ...and I had misgivings as soon as I realised that. I remembered all the hassles we'd had with a beta version of Windows 95 all those years ago. My husband tried to offer reassurance and uttered words of comfort in my ear. Things were so far advanced now, they've been doing this so long, they KNOW what they're doing. In fact, I agree with that last sentence. Oh yes! They know what they're doing! Well, things went wrong from the time we took it out of the box. We put it together and set about installing our printer and scanner. nope! It will ... Read the complete review

Microsoft's 2000 home version of Windows - the 'Millennium Edition' offers very little progress over previous versions and can only really be recommended to those using Windows 95 or earlier. The improvements are too small and the added features too trivial to make it a particularly outstanding piece of software. The bold promise "Let ME Entertain You" - Microsoft's marketing campaign for their 2000 operating system - is hardly justified by the enhanced multimedia features Windows Millennium Edition offers. The most well known of these features is Windows Media Player 7, previous incarnations of which have been rather dull and forgettable. Version 7 ... Read the complete review

well i thought this was the worst windows ever made. I started using windows os from version 3.1 and carried on upgrading. But when I came to use this version i thought this was one of the worst one's ever made by microsoft. The Original OS came with a PC i bought and soon after I started using it crashed. As it started happening very often I had to go back to my 98. My husband thinks Microsoft cons people selling new products because they have the upper hand. what he tells me and what I find is that microsoft will bring out new versions of OS every couple of years just so that people buy them and they make a bit of a money which they are successful in doing so. ME is no ... Read the complete review

There is a lot of reviews for this, but Operating System. From a technical standpoint, this is the worst Windows Distrobustion Ever! It is riddled with bugs. Windows95/98 is more stable than this!! If your system can handle it, go ahead with Windows2000 or go directly to WindowsXP. However, if you have waited this long.. wait a little longer. Just Buy a new system when the new Windows Platform is released in 2006. You'll need a new hardware fore this OS. It is need the power! I know, Beta Tested it! ... Read the complete review

When I last replaced my old Windows 98 machine (Windows being about the only aspect of the Patriot Book PC that I was satisfied with), I found an 'all new, singing and dancing' operating system waiting for me. So in I went with a good level of enthusiasm. It took me about an hour to realise that not only was the 'new and improved' Windows ME simply a graphically tweaked version of 98SE (admittedly with a few added extras and an awesome driver database), but that it seemed to have been a highly rushed and flawed piece of software ('piece of software' was not my first choice of words, but it will suffice on a family site). The list ... Read the complete review
