Advantages: stability games hardware support

Disadvantages: No DOS support

Windows Millenium is a long way ahead of Windows 98, as you would expect for a product 2 years further into the future.
Apart from the obvious differences such as extra wallpapers and games like pinball, Millenium has plenty of improvements. Version 7 of media player and Internet Explorer 5.5 make a noticeable difference to overall performance. There is also a useful facility to restore your system to a preset point in case you run into difficulties with software conflicts. Add the factor of greater stability and better hardware support, and this appears to be an operating system which everyone should buy.
However, before you run out and purchase a copy, check whether you are running any DOS supported programs on your computer because they will not work with Millenium.
I have a HP travan tape which I use for backup purposes, but being DOS based it will not run under Millenium, so I have had to reinstall Windows 98.
So take care, if you have no DOS programs then go for Millenium. Although if you do have DOS based programs you need to consider whether you prefer to lose them in favour of Millenium.
