Advantages: more stable

Disadvantages: There is no really good manual for help. Meaning you'll be on the phone when you hit the first spot of trouble.

Microsoft release yet another version of windows. The Mellinium Edition. But this time there are real reasons to upgrade from older versions. The main reason is that I have found it more stable, and so have many other ME users. The layout and style is still built arround the previous windows 95, as with 98, but their is a much better menu system, allowing access to important folders and setup pages straight from the start menu. Internet Explorer 5 is built in, and you can easily manage multiple net accounts.

The main aim of the new release was to be much more compatible with Digital Entertainment. There is a Win DVD player, and Media player is built in, allowing ripping of CD's and playback MP3's. One of the best features of this version, is it's connectivity to the internet. When availible, it automatically donwloads program updates for you, and saves them to a windows folder, ready for installation.

I reccomend this product for any Windows 98 users and 95 users. It runs on most recent machines, and supports newest proccessors and motherboards. This one won't even break your pocket, and the setup is simple. If you have digital hardware for your PC, then you'll benefit from the new updates.

Microsoft have finally made a decent upgrade product for Operating Systems, and this one is specifically targeted at Home Users. So, if you have a few spair pounds, then go out and buy this today. You will benifit.

I'm reliably informed by those in the know to stick with Win98 SE which I find very stable.

You can easily download either Windows Media Player 7.1 with the features you mention, or the patch if you have version 7.

The main thing with WinX, Outlook Express, Word etc is to make absolutely sure you install the latest upgrades from the WindowsUpdate sites, then you will have few, if any problems. The same goes for Internet Explorer!

You need to mention other new features apart from Mediaplayer 7 and a menu system.

ie. system restore, driver availability etc.

I will rerate if you change it.

This product is a big improvement on the ridiculously titled Microsoft Windows 2000. Good review.
